The Data Analyst will be responsible of supporting clientsaround Asia region. This entails establishing data, checking accuracy andcleansing of data itself for global usage.
The role focuses on a portion ofinfo needed for business analysis and will help in collecting segment codesthat tells about companies on their revenues for prospecting new businesses.
Position Responsibilities :
1. Data Management & Maintenance
Collaborate with the business leaders to designanalytic reports / outputs from data captured in IMAP
Establish new prospect / client account recordswithin Marsh internal systems as requested by the business.
Investigate and complete any changes as requestedby the business / technical experts within agreed timescales.
Entity matching of new and updatedclient / prospect business information against Dun & Bradstreet’s globaldatabase to minimize duplicates.
Resolve basic queries arising with generalworkload and escalate as necessary
Assist with data cleansing projects asinstructed.
Adhere to Marsh and departmental procedures.
Manage, prioritise and ensure that workloadwithin own portfolio meets deadlines and targets. Seeks guidance from seniorcolleagues, as required.
Liaise and resolve simple data issues with thebusiness users dependent on MINA / PCR data.
Participates in User Acceptance Testing for datarepository’s fixes and updates prior to deployment.
Recommend enhancements to the workflow processesand applications.
Ad Hoc projects as required.
Assurethe highest quality and integrity of data to support accurate, consistent, wellunderstood and timely information is available for use enterprise wide.
Utilizing knowledge of insurance and Claims datahandling, work with business colleagues, Claims team, clients to designdashboards and metrics for their risk management needs
2. Data Quality
Critical review of data reports to detectobvious errors
Prepare data quality and control reports andrefer queries for resolution.
Issue control reports to user groups foraction. Escalate if no response from user group within agreed timelines.
Identify and raise data quality anomalies todirect manager for resolution.
3. Data Consultation and Training (Communication)
Liaise with regional business users.
Participate in internal and external meetings asrequired.
Share ideas, best practices, knowledge andexperience.
4. Professional and Personal Development
Adhere to and support the data managementmission to deliver the highest quality of reference information and comply withany industry regulatory requirements.
Complete all mandatory on-line learning withinstipulated time frames.
Develop and hone specific skills required toundertake tasks efficiently and effectively.
Bachelor’sDegree holder related to Information Systems / MIS
0to 2 years work experience in doing data / systems analysis
Technically proficient with IT equipment andMicrosoft Office applications
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills andattention to detail
Knowledge of insurance industry is a plus
Key software tools (Excel, Databases,PowerPoint) required
Proficient in SQL for reporting
Excellent organization skills able toprioritize work and meet deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills able to workwithin a team as well as independently
Ableto work effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements and managecommunication through the development process
