The Specialist, Master Data Management, as part of the master data team of QIAGEN, shall contribute to the improvement of master data and is responsible for the data quality, consistency, maintenance and availability in the assigned tools.
S / he will have accountability to maintain, change the required data in the IT systems, mainly SAP ERP or SFDC. S / he provides and maintains master data and contributes to the Master data Governance and the continuous master data enhancement process.
Further, s / he will provide adequate support to the operational business stakeholders on arising issues related to master data.
S / he carries out reports of data quality as well as follows up with the relevant business stakeholders to improve the quality and determine maintenance rules.
Basic scope of tasks, duties and responsibilities :
Master data creation and change following rules and processes for maintenance.
Support standardization and rule definition for maintenance considering business needs.
Execute product master data changes in SAP and other relevant systems within agreed timelines, triggered by work flows.
Ensure data accuracy in SAP and other relevant systems corresponded with requested data changes, verification of own work by extracting and comparing of SAP and other relevant systems master data.
Check completeness of provided data within a work task for creation or changes of master data and claim actively the completion of data if necessary.
Support development and extension of master data documentation.
Creation / updates of maintenance rules and preparation of reports towards the data governance board.
Additional tasks, duties and responsibilities :
Contribution and improvement of processes related to the own work area.
Communication via Email and phone with business stakeholders and provide adequate support to the business stakeholders on arising issues related to master data.
B.S. degree in Business, equivalent work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Relevant experience and background includes :
Understanding about business processes in a producing or trading company besides knowledge of typical terms and definitions within the industry.
Experience working with SAP.
Excellent Knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite, ideally also some experience with SharePoint based Workflow tools.
Willingness to work in European time zone shift.
Team player with readiness of mind.
Must possess the communication skills (written and verbal) to communicate at different levels of the organization in English.
