Manage facilities and people to produce products as efficienty as possible while meeting all other Corporate and Business Unit guidelines.
Management of production resources (manpower, machine and materials) to the optimum level of productivity and efficiency.
Project Management, implementation and control. Plant safety, orderliness and cleanliness. Plant compliance to all government requirements in its performance of business.
Implementation of production plans based on sales forecast and ensure availability of required products at the right quality and quantity, at the right cost to serve the needs of customer.
Understand and use LRT to the best advantage to improve productivity in the areas of inventory control, production costs and services.
Understand the plant flow and what restrictions or bottlenecks cost vs the cost to remove those restrictions or bottlenecks.
Maintain a system that evaluates process improvement sheets and model reports daily for accuracy and changes in trends, and act on any adverse trends or lack of accuracy.
Reduce waste / rework through source reduction. Develop and utilize warehouse square footage and cost return plan to evaluate products inventoried.
Use mins and maxs for effective management.
Provide working conditions which are pleasant and practical for our industry. Use various audit systems (PrMP, Best Practice, Appearance, etc.
to identify improvements for maintenance and operational efficiency. Manage improvements and repairs as cost effectively while maintaining the business unit standards in housekeeping, safety, quality, and service and brand image.
know how to use monthly model reports to improve operations. Make accurate monthly projections of costs; Develop production budgets and understand how production costs impact business unit margin management and pricing.
Know the basis of energy management, understand the energy reports and use that knowledge to implement energy saving ideas.
Review plant 7L report. manage and control cost and spend within set budget. Keep on top of deviation from norm and assist in solving any problems and be able to explain why.
constantly improve through modification of equipment, techniques and processes. Establish and anticipate performance standards and objectives on all processes and assures product is manufactured accordingly.
Integrate coaching model, learning model and freedom scale effectively into plant operations.
participates in establishing business analytical program and assure plant complies with the program
Ensure that all employees are educated and trained to perform their jobs safely and to accept responsibility for their own safety performance and safe behavior.
Provide the necessary time, tools and resources that foster employee ownership of the safety process. Provide the leadership to develop and direct a safety program and a safety culture.
Understand and comply with all laws that relate to safety in the business i.e., OSHA, local ordinances, etc. Communicate safety standards and fully implement all safety programs.
Maintain a solid safety culture to achieve zero accidents.
HOUSEKEEPING / APPEARANCE
Understand service quality index (SQI) and make meaningful contribution in continuous improvements.
Complete annual environmental audit and insurance compliance in all areas. Sees to it that all licenses and permits are in place and are valid and regularly renewed.
Provide training and coaching to other plant managers in the Business Unit. Assume responsibility for plant management trainees in the Business Unit.
