ABB operates in more than 100 countries with about 136,000 employees. As a Senior Site Manger you will be responsible to lead all on-
site activities for large and complex project site work to assure cost-effective execution of project deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements during the start-
up, construction and / or erection, commissioning, maintenance phases.
Your key areas of responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Plan project on-site activities with Project Manager including necessary local resources, equipment and milestones. Coordinate agreement between customer and external resources on construction targets, health and safety requirements, site organization and policy.
Responsible, from receiving the assigned site area from the customer or Project Manager to handing over to the end customer on completion day, for coordinating all on-
site activities to ensure the successful execution of start-up, construction, erection, testing and commissioning activities in alignment with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements.
Serve as a project representative by building and maintaining effective relationships with customers as well as other local organizations such as authorities, banks, and suppliers to ensure their active support of field activities.
Ensure detailed and up-to-date construction Health & Safety (H&S) plan is in place in respect of each work package, compliant with the ABB H&S plan.
Ensure all on-site resources are properly trained on company health, safety and environment policy and proactively promotes health and safety considerations to project partners throughout the project.
Empowered to suspend any activities on site (be it by ABB personnel or by subcontractors) in case of HSE violation and, if a situation arises, takes the necessary steps to ensure that ABB employees and other persons who may be present are not put at risk.
Ensure correct handling, storage and installation of ABB-delivered equipment, coordinating on-site storage as well as shipment logistics to secure timely site delivery of equipment and material.
Manage the sub-contractors on site hired by ABB to ensure necessary quality and progress achieved to meet delivery date and agreed standards.
Control project cost for the project site work, monitor actual spend against forecasts, and estimate final cost for the same.
Manage the petty cash and has delegated authority for local purchasing within agreed limits.
Ensure all documentation is modified and updated as necessary, the document handling system is maintained, and latest revisions are used for the construction work on site.
Key requirements include :
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Instrumentation & Control Engineering).
At least 15 years in Site Management. Site management experience of Electrical equipment, substation and Instrumentation and control system for power plants is preferable.
Experience of handing multiple power generation sites in the Asia Pacific region of high complexity or value (25MUSD)
Should be well versed in Local procurement and handling Sub contractors at various countries also. The candidate will be responsible for all domestic and overseas sites in the region with electrical Automation, Civil, mechanical scope of erection / installation, commissioning handover of the projects to customers.
Site management leader should have strong interpersonal skills to interact with Engineering, Project Management and Sales functions, subcontractors, customers to execute the project successfully.
The candidate should be willing to implement the new initiatives laid by the Management from time to time.
Should possess strong negotiation and commercial skills.
Excellent written and verbal presentation skills are required. Should be fluent in English and hold on local languages will be advantage especially while handling sub-contractors.
Experience of electrical engineering, control system solutions for power generation plants will be an advantage.
