The Agricultural Engineer will develop crop and weather specific advisories; assist in the delivery of agrometeorological products and services (information, warnings, and advisories) to farmers and feedback response.
The Agricultural Engineer will need to develop a strategy for an efficient diffusion of information to the relevant end-
users. He / She will assist in clarifying additional proposed outcomes and activities and oversee calibration, replacement and faultfinding of meteorological sensors.
The Agricultural Engineer will contribute to Agrometeorology research activities and prepare and write reports.
Advanced University degree in Agriculture, Meteorology or with subsequent specialization in Agricultural Meteorology.
Technical knowledge of the implications of climate change on agriculture is critical.
Experience in the following :
Erecting and maintaining weather stations or equivalent maintenance and calibration of sensors.
Coastal adaptation and / or disaster risk reduction is an asset.
