Responsible for maintaining and tracking company records pertaining to parts environmental compliance. Provide guidance across business functions pertaining to Product Environmental Compliance (PEC) activities.
Drive and implement PEC requirements into all required functional areas. Lead and coordinate with cross functional teams to ensure due diligence processes in place, and product meeting legal requirement as well as customer requests.
Lead material and product compliance programs for Vertiv Americas by leading the supply chain part level data collection and collaboration with other functional groups by proactive communication and process improvement.
Specific functions include : Material disclosure management and supply chain outreach
Develops and maintains strategies and action plans for part level material disclosure collection. This includes Full Material Disclosure (FMD), Partial
Material Disclosure (PMD), or other compliance certificates.
Leads and facilitates the Electrical / Mechanical Sub-assembly (EMS) part data collection process by working closely with product engineers, Vertiv corporate compliance resources and EMS suppliers.
Coordinates and leverages resources across Vertiv for material disclosure collection.
Ensures material disclosure and compliance certificate requirement is incorporated in all direct material e-sourcing projects.
Ensures information is provided by awarded supplier in a timely manner.
Reviews material disclosures provided by suppliers for accuracy and completeness
Verifies and follows up to obtain part and material disclosure information using database for substance compliance. Develops and produces status reports to management.
Using company developed guidelines, assesses supplier risk from supplier surveys and provides feedback to management.
Educates and trains suppliers regarding the material disclosure requirements. Actively purses non-responsive suppliers to participate in providing information to obtain compliance.
Product compliance assessment
Performs due diligence by reviewing the completeness of Restriction of Hazardous Substance (RoHS) certificates (if FMD unavailable) and technical documentation.
Utilizes technical knowledge to access logical deficiencies and follows up with supplier with any questions.
As requested, provides customers RoHS and Registration Evaluation Authorization of Chemical (REACH) related data.
Reviews RoHS exemptions and makes notations as necessary pertaining to compliance status.
Actively participates in New Product Development Process (NPDP), incorporate RoHS / REACH compliance requirements, and prepares RoHS / REACH status assessment for Gate Reviews.
Product Environmental Compliance (PEC) Due Diligence Processes
Leads Environmental Compliance Committee (ECC) meetings. Facilitates and participates in discussions regarding legislation updates and impact assessments.
Works with Committee to provide recommendations to management.
Works with cross-functional areas, to ensure awareness, training and compliance with PEC. Assists functional groups to establish auditable compliance due diligence processes.
Conflict Mineral Reasonable Country of Origin Inquiry (RCOI) process
Obtains Vertiv corporate US Conflict Mineral RCOI strategies and due diligence processes. Works across various functional departments to implement and comply with corporate polices and processes.
Tracks RCOI progress and ensures overall data collection meets Vertiv SEC reporting standards. Follows up with external or internal RCOI resources as needed and escalate non-responsive issues.
Responds to customer inquiries pertaining to Vertiv’s efforts to compliance with US Conflict Mineral legislation.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
At least 7 years relevant experience in Chemical or Material compliance.
Excellent project / program management skills.
Self-motivated, driven individual who is comfortable working in a global, matrixed, fast-paced environment
Comfortable working at senior management level and supporting executive leadership
Strong analytical skills; should have the ability to evaluate, analyze and present data
Attention to detail; initiative, follow-up, and a desire for end-to-end ownership of deliverables
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Flexibility to handle directional changes and ability to support multiple projects while maintaining day-to-day business support
Ability to comprehensively understand data elements, sources and relationships
Ability to build effective relationships in a cross-functional team environment
Must have a passion to understand the operational value of data and analysis
