This role calls for knowledge and experience in the conduct of Environmental Impact Assessment, environmental permitting, and compliance monitoring in accordance with the Philippine environmental regulatory framework and relevant international standards.
Candidate is expected to be highly competent in the field of forestry and ecological assessment and must have at least basic understanding of geographic information system tools and output.
As a senior EIA practitioner, the role calls for the ability to assist in the management of a team, along with subcontractors / subconsultants, for environmental surveys and environmental permitting work.
Post is office-based but will be deployed on field as necessary.
Assist in the management of EIA, environmental compliance, and environmental monitoring projects
Keep updated on local environmental regulations
Gather data from government agencies and relevant offices
Plan and conduct environmental field surveys
Design and lead technical assessment for terrestrial ecology, vegetation, land capability, use and valuation
Coordinate with regulatory agencies in relation to environmental permitting work
Review and consolidate reports in support of ECC applications (e.g., IEE checklist, PD reports, EIS)
Formulate environmental management plans and monitoring programs
Understand the quality management systems and applies them on projects
The minimum qualifications for this position are :
Master / Bachelor of Forestry, license required
5 to 10 years experience in EIA
EIA certification from DENR required
Must have basic understanding of GIS and remote sensing
Knowledge of the PEISS, its implementing rules and regulations, and associated administrative orders and circulars
Technically competent in environmental impact assessment, environmental compliance, and the environmental permitting process
Willing to travel on short or long-term field assignments to conduct environmental surveys or monitoring work
Excellent technical skills with the ability to write, review, and consolidate reports as required
Strong sense of teamwork and ability to work under pressure
