As part of our growth, your tasks will be :

  • Responsible for effective provisioning, OS Patches / updates, installation / configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
  • Administers and maintains a Unix / Linux-based server network, with a combination of physical and virtual servers;
  • Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
  • Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains server-based applications running on the network including Unix / Linux Services AD LDAP.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Assist to create, configure and deploy all virtual machines and install and provide backup to all configuration procedures.
  • Providing overall direction for Linux system performance and enhancements.
  • Perform tests on all new software and maintain patches for management services and perform audit on all security processes.
  • Develops various scripts and utilities (mainly for user access management and for customization of the remote peripherals).
  • Provide software and hardware support on POS machines.
  • Maintain system efficiency, data center environmental and monitoring equipment.
  • Provide Tier II / other support with IT groups as per request from various constituencies and provide them with the necessary assistance.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues.

    You know you are the perfect fit if you have / are :

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science, preferred.
  • Advanced English both spoken and written
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of system administration experience in Linux environments and proficient in tasks such as shell scripting, creating cron jobs, analyzing log files, managing user accounts and groups, configuring iptables, and setting up mail services.
  • Ideally Systems Administration / System Engineer certification in Linux+,
  • Sound knowledge and hands on experience with LDAP and its integration across systems.
  • Knowledge in database management (SQL, PostGreSQL, and Apache web services.
  • Solid scripting skills in Linux / Unix systems (bash, sh, ksh, csh, )
  • Functional knowledge of powershell, bash scripting, puppet or similar platforms
  • Knowledge in Network / VOIP is a plus.
  • Ability to find creative solutions to problems and means of improvement
  • Positive can-do attitude and ability to understand the user needs
  • Ability to prioritize and work productively and efficiently with minimal supervision
