Reporting to the . Manager - Manufacturing, AMEA, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for the management of central maintenance activities within the Sucat business unit.

It is to ensure the development and implementation of best practice techniques for maximising availability and efficiency of plant and equipment, preserving the condition of buildings and other assets, and providing utilities in an optimal manner and cost to the Company.

Some of the key accountabilities for this role will include (but are not limited to) :

  • People ManagementDrives excellence by providing leadership in the attainment of goals. Ensures communication of plans and information to personnel as well as follow through on all commitmentsManages performance through the development and implementation of targeted personnel performance management measures including constant and efficient performance reviews, providing feedback, coaching, and counsellingIn cooperation with Human Resources, initiates and supports training and development of each individual personnelIdentifies high potential individuals within the team and develop them to be possible successors to his postEnsures discipline in the workplace
  • Strategic PlanningOrganizes yearly meetings with all plant functions to share continuous improvement status, define next steps in order to raise the performance bar, review plans to deliver sustainable productivity, and develop plans to drive towards a continuous improvement plant culture.
  • Key focus is on sustainable people / culture development

  • BenchmarkingProactively collaborates with regional / network and local Continuous Improvement Managers from other plants across categories / countries in order to communicate the global benchmarking methodology.
  • Supports regional / network Continuous Improvement Manager on benchmarking best practice database.Leads efficient use of global communication platforms (intranet, continuous improvement symposium, external sources) to fill the local pipeline with new ideas and best practices, as well as providing the global plant network with local continuous improvement success stories and initiatives

  • Maintenance Preventive / Autonomous MaintenanceDrives and develops effective preventative / autonomous maintenance techniques that are applied in a comprehensive programme to maintain the assets of the site in an optimal manner including condition monitoring where appropriateDefect CorrectionEngage and control external support services to supplement internal maintenance capability as necessary
  • Resource ManagementEnsure that site has the necessary tools and equipment to effectively perform the functions of maintenanceEngage and manage external contractors for specialist and overflow works including measures for contractor safety and performance managementSpecification preparation, tendering and administration of service contracts.
  • Manage the engineering store to ensure the optimal stocking of MRO parts and consumables, and ensure that spare parts are provided for major repairs and shutdown periodsDevelop and implement effective maintenance budgeting practices to accurately determine expenditure requirements and manage expenditure to obtain optimum maintenance outcomesEnsures uninterrupted supply of required utilities to the Plant (electricity, gas, steam, water

  • ComplianceEnsure that all safety, quality (KI / QP), environmental and regulatory requirements (eg calibration) are observed in full in the management of maintenance through personal management and reviewManage reliability team safety including investigation and corrective action implementationEnsure that maintenance plans prepared meet all safety, quality environmental and regulatory requirementsManagement of WWTP Operations, performance and Maintenance (Including calibration of testing instruments)
  • Environmental AspectsSafety / Environmental Detailed knowledge of local regulatory requirements for trades practice, utility management, and engineering practiceLeads and ensures the ENERGY / WATER Management programs for the siteEnsure that all safety, quality (GMP), environmental and regulatory requirements are observed in full in the management of maintenance through personal management and reviewEnsure effective management of statutory inspection programmes, plant registration and registration renewal.
  • Ensure completion of statutory compliance reporting. Implement Risk Management Plans

  • BudgetingEnsure proper planning and monitoring of the department’s budget, plan investments and prepare appropriation requests
  • Qualifications

    Do you have what it takes?

  • College graduate in Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical
  • Trained in HACCP, ISO, Food Safety, EMS, OHSAS
  • Trained in project management
  • Trained in factory cost accounting
  • Manufacturing systems (SAP, MFG Pro), good PC literacy (MS Office)
  • Knowledgeable in Industrial relations and labour laws
  • CI / TPM / JIT / Six Sigma
  • At least 7-10 years experience in a food manufacturing plant
  • At least 5 years managerial experience in engineering maintenance and project management (installation / commercialisation E2E)
  • Change Management & business development experience
  • Good communication skills
