Position Purpose and Summary

  • The Supply Planning Manager is responsible for overseeinga team of Supply Planners in ensuring that optimum / required inventory level ofboth Raw Materials (RM) and Finished Goods (FG) in each plant and toll millingfacilities are maintained in order to meet or exceed customer order fill rates.
  • The said activities are supported through collaboration with RMS, Logistics,and Demand Planners, as wells as applying proven supply chain managementpractices (e.g. S&OP, FIFO, etc.)

  • The position will bea vital member of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) together withother representatives from Supply Chain, RMS, Finance, Plant Operations,Commercial (Sales) and SMT.
  • TheSupply Planning Manager position is responsible for the inventory controlactivities associated with RM and FG.
  • Principal Accountabilities

    Supply Planning

  • Ensure that optimum inventory level ofraw materials (RM) and Finished Goods (FG) in each plant are maintained to meetor exceed customer order fill rates.
  • Identify and resolve supply exceptionsby expediting purchase orders, re-allocating existing inventory andestablishing safety stock parameters.
  • Liaise with RMS / Merchant and Logisticsfor any supply-related issues (e.g. quantity delivered, reformulation, pricing,delivery schedule, etc.)
  • InventoryManagement

  • Ensure andimplement control in managing raw materials and finished goods inventory toprevent losses and / or shrinkages.
  • Conduct regular security checks to ensureinventory completeness.

    Sales andOperations Planning

  • Activelyparticipate in the coordination of cross-functional activities to ensure thatsupply of raw materials and finished goods (FG) in each location are sufficientbasis the demand forecast.
  • Utilization of a collaborative and consensus approach by working withManufacturing, Sales, Marketing and Customer Finance to obtain and ensure thatcurrent and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
  • Administrative functions and any otherduties as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager

  • Timely andaccurate submission of required reports
  • Effectivemanagement of subordinates which includes coaching and mentoring
  • Qualifications

    Education, Experience and Skills


  • Industrialengineering graduate or its equivalent
  • 5 to 7 of overall experiencein Supply Chain
  • At least 2 years ofexperience in Supply Chain Management specifically in terms of raw material andfinished goods.
  • Demonstrateproficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with anunderstanding of their financial and operational impacts.
  • Stronginterpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams,areas and levels of business affecting the forecast process.
  • Good facilitationskills are required.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Requires stronganalytical, organizational, decision making, and presentation skills.
  • Work experience indata analysis is preferred.
  • Knowledge of anyDemand Planning and / or WMS software is an advantage.
  • Experienced withother software packages including Windows, and Microsoft Office.
