Responsibilities :

  • Implement and maintain regional and country Compliance Programs for the OPU, covering all elements of an effective program (such as policies & procedures, processes and tools, reporting, case handling and investigation, remediation and disciplinary sanction) to meet all applicable standards and recognized guidelines.
  • Provide advice to the OPU management committee and General Manager on compliance related topics; regularly report to the OPU Management Committee and / or Compliance Committee on the status of the Compliance Programs and current / evolving compliance requirements
  • Leadership in Ethics & Compliance by setting, implementing and promoting standards, processes and tools, teaching and training on compliance as well as fostering quality & compliance culture in the organization.
  • Represents the OPU on ethics and compliance matters to outside organizations
  • Collaborates with other OPU compliance officers and the Regional Senior Compliance Manager within the ROPU on performing and regularly updating the Region Centre and OPU Compliance Risk Assessments in order to create and maintain a comprehensive compliance risk register and manage identified risks appropriately according to the Corporate Risk Assessment guidelines.
  • Risk based adaptation of the localized Compliance Program including definition and implementation of appropriate preventive and / or detective controls.
  • Lead / operate an end-to-end compliance incident handling process covering reporting / capture of concerns, incident substantiation, case investigation, in alignment and cooperation with relevant other functions (e.
  • g. HR) and an appropriate involvement of affected businesses.

  • Be a business / compliance partner and act as a trusted advisor to all OPU business and functions by advising, proposing or imposing actions to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Indirect management and coordination & training of OPU employees and development of compliance SOPs and programs in a cross functional team of compliance coordinators / subject matter leads.
  • Be a business / compliance partner and act as a trusted compliance advisor to all business and functions by advising, proposing or imposing actions to ensure compliance with local OPU applicable laws and regulations.
  • Liaise with and advise various business & functions on compliance topics by understanding their needs and helping them to achieve their objectives acknowledging and observing current regulatory boundaries and anticipating future developments in the regulatory environment.
  • Continuously monitor and pro-actively apply changes and trends in the OPU compliance environment, with a focus on pharmaceutical and healthcare compliance by studying guidelines and regulations or obtaining respective updates, as well as by maintaining peer contact and by staying connected to relevant governmental bodies and industry networks.
  • With support of Regional Head of Legal & Compliance & external law firms, ensure that significant changes in applicable laws and regulations are identified, communicated, adopted / adhered to and reflected in internal procedures and documentation.
  • Ensure regular alignment with Region Centre and OPU Compliance on Strategy & Priorities by staying connected, attending international compliance managers meetings and adopting action plans to enhance the local Compliance Program.
  • Contribute to the advancement of the Global Ethics & Compliance Organization by sharing experience and participating in Regional Compliance Projects.

  • Qualifications :

    oEducation : strong Bachelor or Postgraduate academic credentials. Legal qualifications / experience is not mandatory but would be preferred and advantageous with experience in risk management and corporate compliance

    oExperience : 6 to 8 years’ experience in a corporate compliance role in a multi-national company or large local company preferably in the healthcare, FMCG and / or pharmaceutical sector, chemicals or medical devices or life sciences.

    oSome after normal business hours and on-call work will be required as needed.

    oReasonable fluency in written and spoken English is required.
