Responsibilities :

  • assisting with purchasing documentation and customer service.
  • arranges for the purchasing of all materials, equipment, materials, and services. ensures that all purchases are made within the budget in an effort to confirm to all cost cutting best practices.
  • analyze sales records, check inventory levels, look for changes in the market that may affect the availability or price of supplies, and identify suppliers that may provide supplies at a low cost.
  • Assist in data entry, maintaining and entering purchase orders, maintaining and compiling purchasing reports, and working with accounts payable regarding supplier invoices.
  • develop purchasing best practices. researches various suppliers. shopping for the best price, search for best quality of service or product.
  • make sure warehouse and suppliers have the supplies we need.
  • negotiating prices with merchandisers and service providers, make recommendations on purchases to upper management or come up with ideas to keep the company from overspending.
  • investigate potential suppliers and keep supplier lists updated. determine the requirements for a purchase, and get quotes based on the specifications given.
  • create purchase orders and place the orders with the supplier.

  • negotiate prices and look for ways to save the company money.
  • arrange for overnight shipping if an item is needed immediately, and monitor all orders to make sure supplies are received.
  • resolve the problems with suppliers for any material defects, delivery shortage and invoice discrepancy.

  • should proactively contact colleagues and suppliers so they are aware of the status of their orders, particularly if there are problems that need to be resolved.
  • accepting and editing purchase requests from various departments, corresponding with suppliers for quotations, preparing purchase orders and performing buying duties.
  • being careful about verifying the accuracy of purchase orders.
  • maintaining records of materials, prices, inventories and deliveries, and then using these records to compare prices, specifications and delivery dates to save money by choosing the supplier that provides the greatest value.
  • Maintain vehicles including completing vehicle inspection reports
  • Performs related job duties as required.
  • Minimum Educational Qualifications :

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Minimum Previous Experience :

  • at least 1 year on-the-job training. Experience in accounting, purchasing and data entry can also be beneficial to a job candidate.
  • have experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Minimum Additional Training :

  • If a candidate is a recent graduate, related internships will also be acceptable.
  • Other Skills :

  • Qualifications include good customer service skills, computer and typing skills, as well as understanding purchasing processes and inventory databases.
  • Strong communication and written communication skills are required for negotiation, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
  • Mathematical skills "ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume."
  • can operate basic computer programs.
