But we are just getting started! We have much room for improvement and many ideas that will further shape the industry.Ninja Van Philippines is looking for a Regulatory Compliance Counsel to ensure that the Company’s operations and business transactions follow all relevant legal and internal rules.
The Regulatory Compliance Counsel should be a reliable professional who is not afraid to speak his mind and stand by his decisions, and is familiar with risk management and industry’s standards, capable of working independently with excellent communication skills.
The Regulatory Compliance Counsel will have a goal of ensuring that the Company will operate in a legal and ethical manner while meeting its business objectives.
Main Duties
Candidate will be the lead counsel in relation to :
Advising on and handling regulatory compliance risks and matters
Addressing and handling regulatory issues and fostering regulatory compliance;
Ensuring corporate, operational and regulatory licenses applications, renewals and issues
Develop and implement an effective legal compliance program
Create sound internal controls and monitor adherence to them
Draft and revise company policies in collaboration with the Human Resource Department
Proactively audit processes, practices and documents to identify weaknesses
Evaluate business activities (e.g. contract management) to assess compliance risk
Set plans to manage a crisis or compliance violation
Educate and train employees on regulations and industry practices
Address employee concerns or questions on legal compliance
Candidate shall report the Head of Legal and Compliance but is expected work regional and group units on regulatory compliance issues in the Philippines
Candidate is expected to work on other non-regulatory legal matters, as assigned by the Head of Legal and Compliance, which includes the drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts and other Group Legal projects.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Law
Admitted to the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and is in good standing
At least 5 years of experience in a law firm, legal department of a reputable company or governmental institution.
Experience of at least 3 years in at least 3 or more in the following disciplines :
Department of Information, Communication and Technology rules and regulations.
Dispute resolution cases brought before the Department of Trade and Industry and
Local Government business licensing and compliances.
Securities and Exchange Commission Compliance
Data Privacy Compliance
Experience in 2 or more of the following areas :
a) licensing;
c) privacy / data protection;
e) sales / contracting processes.
At least 3 years of experience in handling and advising in regulatory compliance matters. Legal work experience in logistics, transportation, e-commerce or any highly-regulated industry.
Strong ability to communicate in English in both written and oral.
