Position Overview

As an employee, you are expected to provide our guests with a bespoke and memorable experience measured to the highest standards of food quality and service delivery.

Additionally the execution of your position will be in accordance to our company policies, standards and procedures.

Responsible for welcoming guests to The Boutique in a prompt, courteous and efficient manner. Provide excellent customer service while promoting upselling opportunities.

Process all payments according to the established hotel procedures.

Essential Functions & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to compute accurate mathematical calculations, including tax, discounts etc.
  • Ability to clearly and pleasurably communicate in English with guests, visitors, management and co-workers to their understanding, both in person and on the telephone.
  • Ability to communicate in other foreign language Spanish, French, Japanese or German, etc. would be very helpful
  • Ability to provide legible communication.
  • Ability to understand guest inquiries regarding merchandise and provide responses.
  • Ability to promote positive relations with all individuals who enter The Boutique and by telephone.
  • Ability to focus on the guest needs remaining calm and courteous.
  • Ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and assist guest and employees with any given period of time.
  • Ability to focus attention on details.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all guests and hotel information.
  • Ability to ensure security of Retail Shop and merchandise.
  • Ability to remain stationary at assigned post for extended period of time.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work cohesively with other departments and co-workers as part of a team.
  • Ability to practice aggressive hospitality.
  • Ability to process, box and ship domestic as well as international orders.
  • Ability to suggestively sell and display retail merchandise attractively.
  • Ability to clean, vacuum and uniformly fold logoed merchandise.
  • Ability to gift wrap.
  • Ability to assist with ordering weekly sundry items and bi-monthly warehouse merchandise.
  • Ability to assist in inventory as needed with the Accounting Department.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Ability to work any day / shift including weekends and holidays.
  • Willing and able to cross train in various departments so to have an excellent understanding and knowledge for the overall guest service, standards and experience.

    Qualifications and Desirables

    EDUCATIONAL AND / OR EXPERIENCE :

    Two years previous retail and cash handling experience required, preferably in the high-end retail market.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS :

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

    Ability to speak effectively with groups of customers or employees.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, tax, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

    REASONING ABILITY :

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

    Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
