About the Role : The Network engineers report to the Network Operations Team Lead, and maintain close interaction with many other global and local IT operation groups, application support, and development teams worldwide.
They also work routinely with telecomm carriers, network gear vendors and other providers. This position focuses on network infrastructure support, day to day operations, and projects such as hardware refreshes and build out of the network for new offices.
This position is within the Operations & Support division of Citco Technology Management and reports to the Network Manager. Job Duties in Brief :
Worldwide level 2 and level 3 support for the network infrastructure.
Responsible for the maintenance, monitoring and ongoing support of the global Citco network, including WAN and LAN at the datacenters and at the remote offices worldwide.
Manage chronic problems to closure.
Show good common sense and decision making criteria.
Troubleshooting within the network scope and outside into other technology areas in assistance of other IT groups.
General network maintenance.
Abide by established processes, procedures and policies.
Participate in the on-call support rotation.
Flexibility with working shifts. Night shift / Day shift rotation. About You :
Must haves : Strong knowledge and experience in the following areas and technologies :
TCP / IP protocols (TCP, UDP, FTP, GRE, IPsec, etc.)
BGP v4 (iBGP and eBGP).
Cisco routers, branch office to datacenter grade (ASR1000 series, ISR4000 series, 2800 / 3800, 2900 / 3900, etc.)
Cisco switches, branch office to datacenter grade (Cat 6500, Nexus 55xx, Nexus 77xx, Nexus 9K, stackable 3750, 3960, 2960 switches, etc.)
IPsec site to site VPNs, remote access VPNs.
Firewalling, access lists, protocol inspection.
Palo Alto firewalls, PA-220, PA820, PA-5220, PA5260, management from Panorama.
Cisco firewalls, branch office to datacenter grade (ASA55xx, FWSM, ASA-SM), or other firewall platforms.
LAN switching, Spanning Tree protocol, VLANs, dot1Q trunking, LACP port-channels, vPC, VSS.
QOS on the WAN.
Load balancing traffic across server farms, load balancing algorithms, health probes.
F5 load balancers (F5 Big IP) or other load-balancer platforms.
Wide area network circuits and services (MetroE, OCxx, MPLS, DS1 / DS3, etc.)
Clear understanding and proven experience on implementing network hardware redundancy.
Other helpful skills :
WAN acceleration / optimization (Riverbed Steelheads appliances).
SDWAN appliances such as Vmware Velocloud, Silverpeak, etc.
Dynamic routing interaction with ISPs (using BGP).
WCCP redirection protocol.
Clear understanding of how network monitoring systems work.
Operational experience with TACACS+ / Radius authentication systems (Cisco ACS or Cisco ISE).
IP telephony, prioritization of RTP traffic.
Experience with Netflow analysis and using Netflow collectors.
