What’s on the menu for you to do :

  • Manage and control the tax liability of foodpanda Philippines which include all subsidiaries to reduce effective annual tax rate, lower the absolute tax payments in a legal manner, reduce the liabilities for past tax cases raised by either BIR or the provincial assessors;
  • and ensure the business operations are always compliant with the latest Inland Revenue tax regulations.

  • Develop an in depth knowledge using specific work experience and technical know-how of the company’s business activities for inter-company transactions and interested party transactions;
  • and manage the tax exposure by aligning with Group standards.

  • Direct, organize, plan, and control the local and national tax calculation, planning, and payment processes.
  • Manage and plan extensively to meet any of the BIR audits into company books by coordinating with all the business and functional owners;
  • and to ensure a successful closure of the audit.

  • Minimize legally the absolute tax liability and reduce the effective annual tax rate of the Group via a robust tax planning process.
  • Introduce and prepare tax manual clearly specifying the applicable laws, practices, and procedures for each tax type the Group is responsible for.
  • Carry out annual review of the tax processes, practices, and procedures in the company; and confirm with the management the quality of application, and implement remedial actions immediately if required.
  • Coach and guide the foodpanda PH employees in tax matters pertaining to their business areas; and provide solutions to solve the tax issues raised by regulatory authorities
  • What do you bring to the table?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting with CPA license, MBA is a plus.
  • Experience in preparing tax manual for a company.
  • Carrying out tax compliance reviews to identify the tax exposure and institute corrective actions.
  • Tax Due diligence on past tax issues.
  • Tax planning to legally reduce the effective tax rate.
  • Test of controls on critical processes.
  • 3-5 years years tax experience in a fintech environment and leadership role
