  • FO plays a vital role in enabling the delivery of Finance Functional excellence to Shell. In the delivery of its core processes FO ensures : the quality of the data & data model for key aspects of Finance;
  • the design, implementation and measurement of a number of those core processes; the design and delivery of a fit for purposes control framework, including a significant number of SOX controls;
  • and provides business insights through advanced data and process analytics.     The Process Owner organization is a part of the One Indirect Tax team and works closely together with FO Tax, Tax Advisers, Process & Systems Experts, Controllers and Business colleagues to ensure top quartile compliance, efficiency and effectiveness.

    The Tax Admin Junior Specialist is accountable for timely solution of queries raised to the team and supporting other tax teams.

    The Tax Admin Team also provides management information and ad hoc reports related to project delivery.

    The main responsibility is to ensure the appropriate system tax settings in the GSAP system for the Shell companies in scope.

  • Collecting and inputting data with high level of accuracy and in accordance with agreed deadlines.
  • Contributing to continuous process improvement and simplification.
  • Taking initiative and ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Support user acceptance testing, implementation, Hypercare and stabilisation efforts.
  • Provide assistance to tax reviews and statutory audits.
  • Ensure all tax related settings in ERP systems are entered on time.
  • Working within the Integrated Support Model and liaising with IT to resolve incidents.
  • Provide assistance to Tax specialists.
  • Work with other teams to ensure that TAX errors are properly corrected and follow up action has been taken to minimize the likelihood of similar errors in the future.
  • Requirements

    Cooperation with many stakeholders (AP, AR, Tax department).

  • Build trust and confidence in cooperation with Finance in the business.
  • Being able to quickly adapt to changes and identify areas / processes to simplify / improvise.
  • Attention to detail, incorrect settings may lead to significant financial penalties for Shell.

  • During critical periods, such as changes of VAT rate, other tax legislation or major system changes, Tax Admin team member may be required to be on call outside business hours to address urgent support issues.

  • University degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting / finance
  • Knowledge of support processes, process orientation and process management skills.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to think "outside the box".
  • Ability to work in a global, complex environment.
  • Ability to identify and realise opportunities for improvement.
  • Good working knowledge of Word and MS Outlook.
  • Good knowledge about Excel.
  • Very good English skills.
  • SAP technical skills and knowledge of standard SAP processes. Other ERP experience will be considered.
