The Role : Business Development Associate

Location : Pasig, PH

Responsibilities : As a Business Development Associate , you have direct commercial responsibility in driving the growth of Platts’ clients from the Container Freight and Dry Bulk Freight businesses.

You are expected to ensure best in class customer experience with your clients and be able to understand their business, drive service adoption and be able to assess account health and opportunities for growth

The Team : Commercial Telesales team is mandated to retain and grow our existing customer base for Dry Bulk as well as identify new prospects in the Container Freight business.

Through engagement with contacts, the associates are to share shipping campaigns and events planned for 2020 and beyond as well as identify opportunities to increase the sales of our Shipping Market data.

The Impact : Reporting to the Regional Manager, this role is mainly responsible for maintaining and driving revenue growth of the accounts assigned

  • Detailed Responsibilities :

    Existing Account Retention

  • Drive revenue targets set for Container Freight and Dry Bulk Freight target clients
  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the assigned Platts accounts to understand business need, drive service adoption, minimize risk and provide feedback on account health and use best practices to retain;
  • Proactive outreach to assigned accounts to ensure best in class customer experience
  • Understand customers workflow and discuss current service use case
  • Assess clients' needs for new cross-sell opportunities
  • Manage incoming calls and e-mails from assigned accounts;
  • Document all client interactions in Salesforce
  • Upsell by adding new users to existing contract; and
  • Cross-sell by adding new products or services to existing contract;
  • New Logo Hunting

  • Initiate prospecting activities to target non-Platts customers in the Container Freight business
  • Maintain accurate and fresh contact list for target accounts
  • Drive specific Shipping campaigns for target accounts to increase sales and identify prospects
  • Follow up on sales leads and initiate cold calls or solicit to existing and new logo prospects of S&P Global Inc to qualify, pitch, quote, negotiate, close and contract.
  • Close and Contract" means that S&P PH will confirm to the customer that the terms so negotiated are acceptable to S&P Global Inc and perform all administrative acts necessary to make the contract binding on S&P Global Inc

    What We’re Looking For :

    Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Financial industry and / or telesales, account management, relationship management or equivalent external experience
  • Strong client & stakeholder communication is required in this role
  • Good understanding of finance industry and marketing and sales of financial services and products to customer base
  • Good understanding of and interest in hardware / software / networking concepts
  • Experience from the shipping industry business would be an advantage
  • Amenable to work in either mid shift or night shift in the Pasig Office
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to apply a proactive client engagement outlook / approach to work; highly engaged and initiates follow-through on deliverables
  • Good understanding of the finance industry, its players, and roles
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Ability to determine solutions for customers and get the big-picture view of the client from a best in class customer experience standpoint
  • Organizational effectiveness and thought leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • Expected to show respect and work well with a team
  • The incumbent should have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and remain cognizant of deadlines and schedules
  • Intermediate level of computer skills and proficiency in MS Office software, especially Excel and Power point
