Your Role :

As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for working with our customers to understand their technical needs and build out innovative solutions catered to their unique use cases.

You will need to understand the capabilities of SolarWinds software and work in a partnership with a Sales Executive who will handle the commercial and legal requirements, while you focus on becoming a trusted advisor with our customers to earn their trust and deliver amazing results.

You will need to be comfortable working with product specialist engineers, business unit resources, marketing and product teams.

This position requires the ability to effectively perform detailed product demonstrations, during which you will effectively promote product solutions, answer attendee questions and clearly ascertain the prospect’s requirements.

As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will demonstrate expert knowledge of the SolarWinds Application Management and Database Monitoring product portfolio.

Qualified applicants will have a minimum of 3-5 years relevant customer-facing experience.

Your Impact :

  • The ability to work with customers to uncover core business drivers and determine how our technology can meet their needs.
  • The ability to coordinate various specialist resources to ensure the solution design meets all the technology needs of the customer / business.
  • The ability to think outside the box to come up with innovative solutions and outcomes.
  • Comfortable in speaking with all levels of the organization from the CEO to engineering and IT professionals.
  • Comfortable in a group environment, including addressing a crowd.
  • Ability to evangelize our product portfolio and the success that customers have had.
  • Strong knowledge or first-hand experience with application and database development.
  • Demonstrates and implements product customization in lab and in prospect’s environment.
  • Solid understanding of market landscape with exceptional ability to position products.
  • Your Experience :

  • 3-5 years of experience working with languages such as Java, .NET, PHP, Python, Ruby, SQL, and JavaScript.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant Computing Science or Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Linux, Windows, Syslog, Linux core utilities.
  • Experience with application performance monitoring technologies is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies, AWS and Azure IaaS, PaaS, SaaS. Docker / Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Must have excellent reasoning and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills are critical.
  • A strong mix of technical ability, sales and customer interaction skills are required.
  • Prior experience in a similar pre-sales or technical role within a software vendor or a preferred partner / systems integrator.
