Position Summary

The Accounting Specialist will support Mandarin-speaking countriesand other local offices Finance and Accounting team in managing the integrityand accuracy of our general ledger data in accordance with the respectivestatutory requirements.

He or she will responsible for the end to end processfor payroll, supporting the local managers in the preparation of tax reportsand filings, as well as producing and analyzing monthly financial reports.

The Global Finance team is led by the Firm’s CFO, Steve Wrede, and is made up of approximately 280 team members around the world.

Committed to our 2020 strategy for profitable growth, our core functions include billing and collecting Firm invoices, statutory accounting for the Firm and for individual offices, creating and distributing management reports, processing payments to vendors or reimbursements to employees and managing payroll for our people.

  • Our team’s remit includes partner compensation and the maintenance of partner equity accounts; strategic procurement of vendor services;
  • global tax strategies; inventory management, and finally analysis of the profitability of clients, matters and groups of timekeeper.

    We work with partners and with other business services groups to establish hourly billing rates as well as client-specific fee arrangements.

    Our Treasury team is responsible for global cash management, foreign currencies and hedging.

    In consultation with Firm leaders, we set annual global revenue and expense budgets across Regional Sections and offices, including legal and business service departments.

    The team continuously reviews expenditures throughout the year to ensure that the Firm’s resources are being used efficiently.

    Duties and Accountabilities

    Perform monthly account analyses on the Mandarin-speaking offices’local books to ensure all information from different modules are accurate,correct and timely recorded along with the completeness of GL data.

    Prepare and review monthly accountreconciliations including cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and generalanalysis on the local books.

    Recommend and record adjustments to thegeneral ledger as necessary.

    Prepare Tax Journal report and other reportsin support of the offices’ tax filings. Process and record tax payments and adjustmentsas necessary.

    Handle end to end process for Payroll,including creation of profile and accounts, uploading of data into payrollsystem, processing payments, and posting entries in general ledger.

    Assist in the month end closing activities,including preparation of journal entries on local books.

    Support internal and external audits byproviding audit schedules, support and responding to inquiries.


    Graduate of BS Accountancy

    CPA is an advantage

    Above average Mandarin language proficiency (able to read, write and speak)

    Knowledge of tax preferred

    At least 5-7 years of general accounting and / or tax experience

    Experience working in a BPO / Shared Service Organization

    Excellent data skills with high degree of accuracy

    Attention to detail

    Strong written and verbal communication skills

    Ability to work independently

    Proficient knowledge in MS Office suite such as :

    Preferably with Knowledge in financial and payroll software such as Elite 3E and ADP

    This position is located in Manila, Philippines.

    This position will report to the Sr. Manager of Finance Shared Services
