Job Description :
Experienced Linux system administrator to support data analytics infrastructure and environments including Hadoop, SAS, and Revolution R.
Includes both physical and virtual RHEL and SuSE servers, AIX LPARs, and clustered files systems on GPFS and GFS2.
Responsibilities include :
Systems administration, maintenance and support for all Unix OS
Escalation support for data analytics environments
Development of scripts for automation and performance tuning
Ensuring enterprise servers are compliant with corporate standards
Software installation, storage presentation, and file system creation
Working in a collaborative team environment to solve complex issues and deliver effective solutions
Undertaking special assignments and projects as instructed
Working with ITSM tools in an enterprise setting including request, change, incident, and problem management
Researching and evaluating new technologies, products, and services; recommending acquisitions and modifications as needed
Job Requirements :
10+ years of experience on Red Hat and SuSE Linux operating systems.
5+ years of experience on AIX
Experience managing VMWARE guests and troubleshooting in an ESX environment
Solid experience with LVM and network troubleshooting
Strong experience in issue triage and performance s troubleshooting
Experience with Linux Mainframe environment (a strong plus)
Ability to develop automated processes using Unix batch / shell scripting languages
Experience in resource management and system tuning
Experience installing and upgrading software
Experience with automated server provisioning, including kick start
Experience with other automation tools (BMC Blade logic a strong plus)
The ability to manage projects and tasks independently
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Dell OpenManage experience a plus but not required
Performance and capacity management experience a plus but not required
Certifications a plus but not required
Ability to build relationships and work effectively with cross-functional, international team
