Your team responsibilities

Our IT Change management team own and manage the delivery of our enterprise-wide Change Management program. Leveraging leading technologies, the right candidate will work collaboratively across the enterprise to introduce and integrate Change Management solutions by identifying requirements, tools, technologies, teams, and identity services at MSCI to improve our change program, while equally improving our processes.

The primary objective of this role is to provide active oversight of enterprise-wide technology changes. This will include the approval or rejection of these changes, based on various internal criteria.

In addition to managing change requests, this position involves reporting on change requests, participating in continuous process improvements, and participating in change awareness actions, such as user education.

The Change SME is also expected to contribute to the stability and governance of our Cloud environment by defining the standards and principles to govern and ensure compliance.

This is a key and central role for MSCI as it ensures smooth implementation of enterprise-wide technology changes globally.

This role requires frequent discussions with DevOps engineers or operators located in any of our offices. It requires excellent knowledge of Cloud solutions, experience with Infrastructure and operations within a large organization, and a good understanding of the ITIL framework and IT risk management.

In the rapidly changing world of technology, the right candidate will focus on innovative and automated solutions to meet and exceed strict regulatory compliance requirements in a Financial Technology company.

Working with IT and IS leaders, you will drive seamless integration into all our critical business services while simplifying the change processes.

We are looking for a strong leader of people with an exceptional understanding and subject matter expertise in Cloud management practices & strategies.

This is a highly visible leadership role, and the right candidate must have a development Background with a customer-focused, team-oriented approach that balances risk and compliance to provide best-in-class change management function to MSCI.

    Your key responsibilities

  • Develop a Cloud-driven Change strategy and implementation plan
  • Design, implement and manage enterprise-wide change management technology processes supporting critical business systems while ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, scalability, and resiliency
  • Review and improve automated change processes including releases, provisioning, de-provisioning and reconciliation of resources
  • Own change management policies and processes globally, while adhering to applicable compliance requirements across our business segments
  • Work across IS and IT teams to deliver change best practices for on-premise and cloud-based solutions
  • Lead the architecture and design of change solutions for the enterprise in a highly complex environment with a blend of legacy and innovation platforms
  • Introduce business workflows and approvals using integrated system technologies working with IT and business teams
  • Have excellent verbal and written skills and be comfortable presenting ideas and issues to different levels within and outside of the organization
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of monitoring and reporting on changes in the Cloud, integrating
  • DevOps principles and practices
  • Have a demonstrated track record for building and leading exceptional teams through collaboration, mentoring, skill training and transition of technologies and processes as technologies and compliance requirements evolve
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation of complex workflows with step-by-step policies to ensure tasks are repeatable and accurate

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above
  • 15+ years of progressive technology experience desired and / or consulting experience developing or managing change in a complex Technology environment in medium to large size organizations
  • Have a development background with s trong knowledge and understanding of development practices
  • Understanding of Cloud, integrating DevOps principles and practices
  • Hands on experience with Azure DevOps, Pipelines, Terraform, Atlantis, GitHub and s trong understanding of application and infrastructure architecture
  • Attention to detail, but also has the ability to see the bigger picture, pragmatic, highly organized attitude and c omfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding global environment with multiple time zones
  • Have Transformation experience and willing to be a change agent
  • Innovation mindset and strong interpersonal skills to lead a team and ability to provide technical oversight
  • A high level of risk-intelligence and risk awareness with a balanced approach when assessing risk.
  • Current and in-depth knowledge of Change management regulatory requirements
  • Analysis and evaluation of information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Proactively establish and maintain effective communication with IT leadership and collaborate with different peers in business units (product lines and application development) to establish technical and functional views and analyze the tradeoff between usability and performance
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation of complex workflows with step-by-step policies to ensure compliance
  • Desired experience

  • At least 7 years of hands-on experience in a software development or engineer role that required the substantive development of automation capabilities in either a scripting or configuration language (declarative or imperative)
  • Knowledge in cyber security frameworks : NIST, ISO27001
