Our Cloud team is looking for an innovative and forward-thinking team player that will contribute to Linux system engineering and automation efforts and provide ongoing support for Infor Cloud applications.
Cloud DevOps and Systems Engineers are responsible for operating Infor cloud customers’ Windows and Linux systems reliably and efficiently.
As a member of the team, you work on mission critical cloud applications supporting some of the world’s largest enterprises across the globe and have a direct impact on feature enhancements to keep our systems running smoothly.
You also ensure that system operations are safe and efficient by monitoring system performance, coordinating planned maintenance, adjusting system components and responding to system connectivity issues.
Keeping the cloud systems reliable ensures that our users stay connected with our suite of applications, products and services.
The candidate will have a strong technical background with experience working on medium to large scale environments.
Work as part of a cross-functional team to provide technical support, troubleshooting and complex problem resolution on escalated issues while monitoring and maintaining application environment stability.
Provide support during large scale scheduled maintenance and disaster recovery efforts
Configure Linux system and Middleware according to documented guideline
Identify, research, and develop system process improvements and recommends them to management for implementation / automation
Create, use and maintain resource documentation for reference and troubleshooting problems
Create and follow change requests in accordance with change management policy
This position operates in a 24x7x365 environment. Participate in the rotating "on call" schedule with other members of the team.
Running AWS-based automation, system level automation and troubleshooting issues when they arise.
REQUIRED SKILLS :
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering Technology or technical degree and / or certifications.
4+ years’ experience with Windows and Linux systems administration
Strong Middleware experience installing, configuring and tuning Weblogic / Jboss / WildFly / Apache / JVM tuning along with understanding and knowledge of relational databases
Understanding of High Availability and Scalability techniques
Extensive experience troubleshooting complex server infrastructure and network environments.
Experience with server configuration automation tools and automating processes.
Experience administering a production-state system and interacting directly with customers.
Ability to work as part of a team in building, administering and deploying automated systems.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly in documenting and teaching installation and configuration processes.
Preferred Qualifications :
Linux and Windows OS administration
A general understanding of cloud technologies and / or experience with AWS (EC2, ELB, S3, VPC, SES).
Experience with scripting (Python, Shell, Batch)
Experience with AWS Cloud automation tool set is a plus
Good understanding of System level security
Experience with any industry standard monitoring solution is a plus
A general understanding of networking concepts such as TCP / IP, VLANs, and related protocols.
