Department Overview

Community Banking Risk Management (CBRM) is responsible for independently overseeing the regulatory and operational risk activities within Community Banking.

About the Role

The incumbent will build a strong analytical foundation to consolidate information across interactions, customers, team members and products.

This foundation will in turn provide key metrics and reporting to enhance accountability throughout Community Banking’s branch leadership structure.

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for performing highly complex activities related to creation, implementation, documentation, validation, articulation and defense, on-
  • going maintenance of complex models grounded in highly complex statistical theory used to quantify, analyze and manage market, credit, counterparty and operational risks or to forecasts losses and compute capital requirements

  • Duties typically include advising on or participating in the discussion related to analytical strategies, modeling and offering insights regarding a wide array of business initiatives
  • This job requires application of analytical, statistical modeling, and forecasting methods and focuses on the theory and mathematics behind the analyses
  • May interface with regulators and auditors
  • This job requires significant knowledge of financial products and / or portfolios assigned and the ability to synthesize data to "form a story" and align information to contrast / compare to industry perspective
  • Incumbents are heavily quantitatively and technically oriented and have strong communication skills.

    Essential Qualifications :

  • Candidate must be a Graduate of a B.A. / B.S. course (4 years); preferably in Applied math, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Econometrics, Computer Sciences with a Quantitative emphasis
  • 8+ years of decision and / or predictive analytics experience
  • Must have demonstrated experience in the use of SAS, Python or R in applied analytics
  • Demonstrated SAS and SQL skills to include the ability to write complex queries and database
  • Prior experience working with analytic capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • knowledge in order to analyze data sources across a variety of sources
  • Willing to work on late mid shift schedule (5 : 30PM 2 : 30AM)
