McKesson is currently seeking a dynamic candidate for a Sr. Manager, Software Engineering in our Atlanta, GA office. Using engineering principals to create software, responsible for the company’s software applications function including analysis, design, programming, debugging, and modification of computer programs for commercial or end user applications such as materials management, financial management, HRIS or personal applications products (e.

g., spreadsheets, tax packages, personal finance programs).

Responsibilities include :

  • Participates in the software development life cycle through connecting client's needs with applicable technology solutions.
  • May also have responsibility for testing and documentation. Analyzes and investigates applications engineering tasks and prepares design specifications, analysis, and recommendations.
  • Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
  • Creates systems software engineering policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Manages activity and direction of staff within a specific workgroup or discipline. Typically, first level line manager managing a group, department, or district.
  • Has operational focus in area of functional, product or technical expertise.
  • Works on complex issues of diverse scope.
  • Co-ordinates the activity of workgroup through utilizing operational policies to obtain solutions. Frequently interacts with direct reports, outside customers, and functional peer groups at management levels.
  • Conducts presentations of technical information concerning specific projects / schedules. Facilitates cooperation.
  • Communicates organizational and functional strategy and translates it into team goals.
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION & TYPICAL EXPERIENCE OR EQUIV. COMBINATION :

  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Typically has 9+ years of professional experience and 1+ years of supervisory and / or management experience.
  • Career Level - Manager - M3
