JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS :
The Penn State College of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism is seeking a full-time Research Assistant to help conduct research initiatives focused on diabetes, headed by Nazia Raja-Khan, M.
D. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to primarily assist in conducting a clinical trial funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
The successful candidate will have the desire and capacity to work with both technology and human subjects. Strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills are essential for frequent interaction with research participants.
The primary responsibilities will include :
Recruiting research participants Obtaining informed consent, and completing screening and follow-up assessments of research participants Collecting adverse event and outcomes data Monitoring safety and confidentiality of project and participants Troubleshooting for technical problems / maintaining protocol integrity
Candidate must be detail-oriented, possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
This job will be filled as a level 1, or level 2, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience.
TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
1+ years related experience
Associate’s Degree or higher; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preference will be given to applicants with clinical research experience.
Applicants with flexibility in work hours preferred e.g. some evening hours may be needed for research participant recruitment.
This is a fixed term appointment funded one year from date of hire with the possibility of refunding.
