The Junior Graphic Artist is responsible for developing and maintaining design assets that support Manulife’s image, identity and brand.

The Junior Graphic Artist will report to the Senior Graphic Artist / Team Leader and will assist in numerous design projects involving different platforms (print, web, etc).

Responsibilities The Junior Graphic Artist will perform design / layout production requirements for print, web, and other graphic design related purposes delegated by the Senior Graphic Artist / Team Leader / Business Unit. Design / Editing

  • Develop creative concepts, which are based on the client’s or an account manager’s instruction brief
  • Create logos, characters, illustrations, models, backgrounds, etc
  • Work with a wide range of media, including photography, etc
  • Select color palettes, fonts, styles, etc
  • Iterate designs according to feedback
  • Research

  • Research and develop design concepts
  • Find new ideas for characters and narratives
  • Stay up-to-date with graphic design concepts, styles and technology
  • Client Relations

  • Communicate with the client to discuss business objectives and requirements
  • Present design concepts to the client
  • Collaboration

  • Work with other designers, copywriters, photographers, web developers, account managers / business units, etc. to meet client needs
  • Project Management

  • Estimate time required to complete the task
  • Observe project deadlines
  • Qualifications

  • Graduate of any Degree in Art / Design / Multimedia or equivalent
  • 0-2 years Graphic Design experience
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • High familiarity with typography and modern layout design
  • Experience with designing corporate presentations and documents
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work late hours and under deadline pressure
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Open to feedback and iterations until design standards are met
  • Passionate and enthusiastic about design
