The IT Business Unit Manager accomplishes results through the management of professional team(s) and department(s). Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area.

Contributes to standards around which others will operate. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function.

Requires basic commercial awareness. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers.

Has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of end results of an area. May have responsibility for planning, budgeting and policy formulation within area of expertise.

Involved in short-term planning resource planning. Full management responsibility of a team, which may include management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations and may include budget approval.

Responsibilities :

This is a lead role in the Philippines country Technology organization, responsible for the delivery and day to day management of Consumer technology portfolio supporting Consumer Banking business.

The candidate is expected to manage a team, directly reporting to this position and also expected to work closely with the other team in organization placed in other physical location to get the Technology delivery done with a specific focus on new digital technology implementation.

Key tasks and responsibilities include :

  • This role will fall into Global Consumer Technology organization. This role will be reporting to Consumer Technology Head for ASEAN.
  • Act as an Interface with Consumer business and Operation team in Philippines and act as the face of Philippines technology team within the Global Consumer technology organization
  • Manage delivery of high quality delivery, service & support for Production Application Support for the application managed by in country team.
  • Compliance to regulatory mandate and manage day to day compliance matters in Technology domain for Philippines .
  • Day-to-Day Operations and Support management, liaising with Development, release, demand management and Production Application Support teams at multiple levels.
  • End-to-end operational focus project delivery, release management, Operational Costs , Productivity, Utilization of resources, Drive continuous service improvement by working closely with the respective domain leads.
  • Stakeholder management, negotiate, escalate and manage Business aligned Stream leads and other senior stakeholders at all levels.
  • Drive demand reduction and cost optimization initiatives to ensure that the service delivery is optimized without impacting the quality of service.
  • Engage senior business and operation leaders within organization to act as a single point of contact for other senior stake holders in the organization
  • Conduct & drive internal service improvement reviews. Driving automation, process streamlining & re-engineering.
  • Functions in a Chief Of Staff capacity to ensure Global Consumer Technology strategy is implemented appropriately and works on appropriate Internal communication
  • Has full management responsibilities for team (includes people, budget and planning).Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated and unique situations;
  • uses multiple sources of information.

  • Persuades and influences others through communication and diplomacy skills; may negotiate with external parties.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
  • Qualifications :

  • 10-12 years of experience in technology planning with commensurate people management experience.
  • Intermediate level people management experience.
  • Advanced project management experience
  • Leadership and influencing skills
  • Education :

  • Bachelor’s / University degree, Master’s degree preferred
  • Degree in Engineering / Computer Science or related area is preferred
  • Ideal candidate should have the following

  • Degree with Computer Science or related technology discipline
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A minimum of 10-12 years Support or Development experience in relevant IT business domain. Preference will be given to candidate with exposure to banking domain and exposure to implementation of digital projects.
  • Experience in dealing with Senior technology and business Stakeholders
  • Experience of managing a relationship with remote team and managing internal teams
  • Influential skill without direct reporting relationship
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering a quality operational service to customers
  • Operating in a Global team environment
  • Financial management experience is a key success factor for this role.
  • Project Management / IT Transformation experience will be preferred
