As a Marketing Development Representative (MDR) at SolarWinds, you lead the creation and development of new sales opportunities and demand generation from a variety of software products.
Working closely with marketing and sales teams to nurture, qualify and close leads. MDR’s at SolarWinds are an important customer facing channel for the company and represent SolarWinds to both prospective customers as well as existing customers.
It is important to have a good technical understanding of software tools for IT Professionals and be able to communicate complex product benefits.
Develop and manage prospects and assess sales through daily / weekly / monthly follow ups.
Respond to customer enquiries on pricing, product functionality, demo’s, etc. Partner with cross-functional teams to address more complex enquiries and seek out support when necessary.
Develop new, creative sales strategies and overcome objections by leveraging deep knowledge of product features, benefits, and the SolarWinds value proposition.
Position self to understand the management and monitoring needs of the customer.
Manage and track accurate customer and transactional information in Salesforce.com and Outreach.io.
In addition to providing detailed status reports, participate in regular meetings with product management teams and articulate customer and market feedback to department leadership.
Meet monthly quality and quantity pipe build and closed-won metrics.
Manage the end-to-end processes for lead qualification and management.
Partner with sales team to escalate larger enterprise transactions (greater than $5000)
2+ years of outbound driven phone sales experience; technical or software space preferred
Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills; excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Proven success rate of exceeding quota
Good computer skills; previous experience with CRM Outreach.io and / or Salesforce.com are a plus
Ability to balance persuasion with professionalism; possess the motivation to grow and win, individually and as part of a team
Ability to multi-task and track multiple issues; highly organized and able to adapt to changing priorities
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team focused environment
