Responsibilities :

  • Provide expertise and input into other functional areas that affect the Company’s information assets and ensure that these functions fully support and implement the Company’s Data Governance Policies
  • Managing, controlling and directing production, QA and data projects conducted within the DG Team and that include other resources such as BURCs and Data Stewards and Custodians
  • Ability to manage projects using Agile methodologies while meeting project goals and objectives
  • Manage multiple small to medium sized strategic projects ensuring project deliverables are brought in on time and within budget, while meeting client and business objectives for Records Management and Data Governance Projects
  • Work with Sponsors and Management team to define and manage the scope, strategy, requirements and implementation of projects
  • Work with Product Manager to develop project financials, secure funds, prepare ODF documents and manage project budgets
  • Identify, analyze, mitigate, and control project risks. Exercise judgment in identifying issues, modifying plans as business conditions change and develop recommendations for change in plans
  • Provide effective and regular communication within the project team, stakeholders, sponsors and management
  • Manage client and team expectations and relationships, that would include BURC Network and the Data Owners, Stewards and Custodians
  • Follow and execute the required Project Management processes and procedures (business case, roadmaps, schedules, risk registers, and project tracking and reporting)
  • Identify resource needs for the project and establish roles, expectations and goals with team members
  • Stay current to market and industry trends through training, self-study, and trade contracts that are specific to Records Management and overall Data Governance
  • Understand various data storage capabilities of the segment and provide strategies and procedures to align RIM Policy and standards to these capabilities
  • Qualifications and Recommended Experience :

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Data Governance and Records Management Functions
  • Methodologies - Demonstrated experience leading projects / programs using various methodologies including Agile Methodologies
  • 5+ years Project management experience; 7+ years’ experience in Mutual Funds, Annuity, or financial services industry a plus
  • Industry-accepted PM or Agile certifications : Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) preferred
  • Knowledge and Skills :

  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management methodologies, project planning, and tracking tools
  • Program management and oversight
  • Agile project management knowledge
  • Proven ability to think strategically, assess alternatives for short and long term impacts and act decisively
  • Excellent organization, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable when dealing with change
  • Ability to rapidly learn new technologies and business function
  • Excellent analytical, presentation and communication (oral and written) skills to work with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Results oriented, high energy, self-motivated
  • Excellent leadership, teamwork and client service skills
  • Thorough understanding of Investments, Annuity and Life Insurance systems, applications, and Products preferred
