JOB SUMMARY AND KEY JOB RESULTS

The Accounting Assistant is primarily tasked to render effective and efficient recording of payable transactions which will also include clerical tasks related to taxation.

The responsibility that goes with this position will cover regular payables report generation essential for top management's decision-making process as well as compliance with fiduciary / statutory reportorial requirements.

The position calls for ensuring that all department programs are successfully executed, implementing consistently the policies within the bounds of the VMOs, and identifying the critical requirements needed by the department to achieve its performance scorecard, KRAs and KPIs.

Key job results area include accurate and timely submission of payables, assistance in period closing process, cost, expense as well as general accounting support.

I. PLANNING

1.1 Sets out priority schedules on payment processing

1.2 Recommends improvement on operational processes such as :

1.2.1 maintenance of ledgers

1.2.2 payments and reimbursements

1.2.3 control measures

1.2.4 audit system

II. DOING / EXECUTION

2.1 Accurate and timely processing of Accounts Payables for Fly Ace Group of Companies

2.2 Prepayment and fixed asset lapsing schedule

2.3 Records duties and taxes and fund transfers between banks

2.4 Follow through Cash advance and supplier advances liquidation

2.5 Semi-annual and annual physical count of company assets

2.6 Clerical tasks for BIR related matters such as Alphalist encoding, MAP / QAP encoding etc.

2.7 Other tasks that may be assigned by Controllership department.

III. CHECKING / MONITORING

3.1.1 Performs other functions as may be assigned by the Immediate Superior.

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS :

I. KNOWLEDGE :

  • 1.1 aptitude for working with numbers - generally accepted accounting principles and their applications;
  • 1.2 with updated understanding of current accepted accounting practices, policies and standards;
  • 1.3 concepts and principles of people management

    II. SKILLS :

  • 2.1 computer proficiency - accounting softwares and its application;
  • 2.2 inter-personal skills - ability to harmoniously work with both internal and external contacts;
  • 2.3 organizational skills - contact with all levels within the organzation.

    2.4 Multi-tasking in fast-paced operation

    2.5 Equipment operation - ability to operate basic office machines, such as computer system, fax machine, scanner, printer, copier.

    III. EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT

    BS Accountancy or its equivalent

    IV. EXPERIENCE

    with 3-4 years solid experience in Payables Processing, SAP and basic taxation.
