The Role

The role of US Payments Operations team is to support the Credit Cards Business and IT operations as well as Fraud mitigation and management across the 14,000 + station Shell network.

This position will act as a focal point for day-to-day Credit Card issues and Fraud control / mitigation. In addition, the BA will support third party accounts.

Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills are required. Basic knowledge of the credit card processing flow and the ability to solve issues, handle requests, participate / lead projects, and resolve day to day business issues.

The position will require strong analytical skills in excel, access and SQL data base management.

Multi-tasking, Project Management and collaborating to solve problems. The role requires data base mining, analysis, trending, problem solving and collaborating with cross functional teams.

In addition, the BA will support third party accounts. Strong prioritization skills, problem-solving and interpersonal skills are required.

Knowledge of Shell’s systems, Gumbo CAP, MS office proficient with Excel and MS Access, and SQL. Tableau is a plus. Basic knowledge of the credit card processing flow (authorization through settlement) The ability to solve issues, handle requests, participate / lead projects, and resolve day-to-day business issues.

Involvement in multiple projects with stakeholders located across US and globally.

  • Significant level of ad hoc requests from various disciplines throughout the retail organization,
  • Daily Retailer Reimbursement

  • Acquirer Settlement
  • Acquirer Chargeback Management
  • Fraud mitigation to less than 5 basis points fraud to sales Basic knowledge of credit card processing to manage / handle day-to-day requests, projects and account management.
  • Previous experience in the areas of cards, retail marketing & operations, and Retail IT operations
  • Basic knowledge of the cards industry, as it relates to processing and operations, retail sales & operations

    Experience in working with card issuers, acquirers, and card acceptance regulations

  • Extensive knowledge in Retail cards business, as it relates to delivery in the retail business, issuer fees, dealer settlement and fees, and channel partner interfaces
  • Extensive knowledge of Loyalty operations and various platforms within Shell ecosystem
  • Solid understanding of IT cards processing, database marketing, dealer settlement, and EPOS operations
  • History of success in project and service delivery
  • Customer focused
  • Advanced analytical skills ability to manipulate data and produce detailed reports with variable level of details.
  • Expert at database management and data extraction techniques Access, Oracle, etc.
  • Good communication skills verbal and written are vital to success
  • Vendor relationship management skills
  • Cross-functional team collaboration experience -motivated, results driven with attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, results driven with attention to detail
  • Proven analytic skills, with demonstrated ability to use information to identify gaps and issues within systems
  • High proficiency of MS Excel and MS Access is required
  • Strong experience working within Shell databases

  • Experience working with mainframe processing
  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience is required
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines is a must
  • Knowledge of Gumbo Plus (CAP) DataBase is a plus
  • Knowledge of the Retail business together with experience in Operations Management, Shell IT Systems, and Project Management is a plus
  • The following are also highly desirable :

  • Experience in working with 3rd parties and internal partners / stakeholders
  • Understanding of Shell mainframe applications
