JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

Penn State College of Medicine is seeking an entry level Diagnostic Imaging Physicist to support diagnostic imaging physics activities associated with radiographic, fluoroscopic, CT, ultrasound, mammographic, MR, nuclear medicine and PET imaging modalities.

  • Responsibilities include acceptance testing, routine performance testing, and quality assurance oversight of imaging equipment;
  • ACR accreditation support; radiation shielding and dosimetry calculations; and education and training of technologists, residents, and physicians.

    The successful candidate will join three diagnostic imaging physicists and one physics assistant.

    The position requires an MS or Ph.D in medical physics or related field and ABR board eligibility in Diagnostic Medical Physics.

    Recent graduates from CAMPEP accredited imaging physics residency programs are encouraged to apply.

    Excellent organizational, project management, and written / oral communication skills are required. The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal and customer service skills, be self-motivated, and be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
