Role description :
Perform role in accordance with the Arcadis behavioural framework
Support with the management of performance and behaviours of more junior staff
Agree and implements task delivery approach in collaboration with
Manage selected tasks, taking responsibility for resource allocationand successful delivery
Provide management and technical advice to junior project team members
Operate at a level consistent with a senior cost and commercial professional
When appointed in the role of a Task Manager, will be managing the commercial aspects of the task
When appointed in the role of a Task Manager, will be driving taskperformance, service delivery and technical and commercial outcomes and undertaking reviews, ensuring delivery is above expectation
When appointed in the role of a Task Manager, will be communicating with team members to ensure that they understand, and become engaged with, the delivery strategy, brief and projectrequirements
When appointed in the role of a Task Manager, will be managing the acquisition, deployment and management of resources for the task to ensure optimal resource allocation
Propose technical methodologies to deliver task requirements
Undertake verification checking of elements of work with moderate complexity
Undertake a leading assurance role to quality-assure outputs (e.g. dimsheets, marked up drawings, area schedule, bulk check reports, etc.
to ensure that they meet or exceed expectations as well as Arcadis requirements
Provide support to Project Management in Arcadis regional officesarticulating necessary changes to task requirements and assistingwith the quantification of the impact on schedule and fee
Monitor the performance of team members identifying and ensuring the resolution of any issues
Plan, schedules and monitor work to meet deadlines
Work independently within established financial systems to monitor and review project costs and variances on small commercial / regeneration / residential projects, in order to control cost variables
Deliver / assist to manage small to medium scale cost projects or significant components of cost management assignments, ensuring the delivery of the required scope of work within set deadlines
Understand and comply with business risk and present any projectconcerns or issues to senior managers to ensure the project is not adversely impacted
Analyse and review a range of data to collate trends and prepare documentation such as delivery plans, providing advice and making recommendations to support cost and commercial management decision-making
Use own knowledge and experience to review and analyse existing cost and commercial management processes and policies, sharing knowledge and taking an active involvement in service improvement and innovation
Provide specialist technical advice and guidance within area, supporting others with cost management queries and actively sharing knowledge in order to inform colleagues and provide a high level of service to clients
Contribute to a range of professional cost management assignments by managing and preparing practical tasks, monitor and review work undertaken by more junior colleagues and work with other Task Managers to ensure programmes of work are undertaken and project milestones are met such as preparation of cost estimate and cost plan quantification, ensuring that all quantities, rates, assumptions and exclusions are correct, preparation of Bill of Quantities, quantitative tender review and preparation of tender report, desk top evaluation of applications for payment, evaluation of contract variations to assess cost effects and identifying variances between planned and incurred costs and notify more senior colleagues of any discrepancies to ensure management has access to up-to-date and accurate information to aid their decision-making
Work with a Mentor to develop technical excellence within a structured training programme under GEC C&CM Training Academy and the GEC accredited APC Training Program provider
Qualifications & Experience :
Have a BE / BSc Eng, Diploma in QS or equivalent in a relevant discipline
Have previous relevant experience including supervision of elements of large, complex tasks
In a task management role, preferable to have assisted an experienced task manager in the role
Has at least achieved Affiliate / Associate Membership of a QS professional organization and working towards their APC OR near attainment of Chartered or Certified status of QS
