The role of the Logistics Lead is to oversee the performance of warehouse activities to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of customer orders.
The Logistics Lead analyses the overall distribution network and develops or adjusts the distribution and storage strategy to meet changing business needs.
He / She is also tasked to manage the performance of all contracted third-party warehouse management and trucking service providers, using identified Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
He / She also monitors the logistics expenditures, seeks to understand drivers and looks at opportunities to reduce costs and achieve the budget.
Manage the overall performance of the contracted warehouse management and trucking service providers
Develop appropriate and relevant in-country Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to monitor and assess performance of third-
party contractors including incentive and penalty schemes, as required
Ensure fulfillment of delivery plan / target in support of the overall Commercial target
Develop distribution strategies to bring finished products timely and efficiently at the least possible cost to optimize commercial margins
Manage total distribution cost of logistics operations (SVDE, etc).Review cost drivers and efficiency on a regular basis and work with relevant teams to develop improvements to reduce cost
Drive improvement activities around transportation safety and raise HSE standards in Logistics by working closely with HSE Officer
Improve OTIF performance and ensure customer satisfaction in distribution
Work with Planning Team to determine overall warehouse and distribution requirements that support the requirements of the business (warehouse space, delivery strategy, etc)
Ensure that all warehouses follow required processes in recording of transactions by conducting regular audits, developing action plans and ensuring completion and implementation of identified actions
Overall accountable for the accuracy of physical inventory at the warehouses versus system
Drives standardization and harmonization of processes across different warehouses in order to achieve efficient and effective delivery of requirements
Holds regular Performance Review and Feedback with contracted service providers as per agreed in SLA’s and contract term provisions ensuring compliance, continuous improvement and correction of observed / identified issues
Ensure Operations and distribution warehouses are optimized, sized, designed, strategically located and staffed properly in line with future requirements for volume, handling, storage, shipping and value-added service.
Ensures that contracts of all logistical service providers are reviewed and renewed on schedule.Reviews and ensure that service providers are paid timely and any billing issues are resolved quickly
Knowledge, experience & capabilities
Degree in Industrial Engineering or related Engineering field
Operational understanding of warehouse management and distribution in the Philippine Setting
Experience in using SAP specific to inventory or warehousing module
Proficient in Microsoft applications (word, excel and powerpoint)
Basic understanding of optimization tools and financial management
At least five years’ experience in a logistics environment
Proven track record in successfully working in cross-functional teams, driving results and managing performance through Key Performance Indicators
Proven experience in efficient management of warehousing and distribution
Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities
Good interpersonal skills; ability to work in cross-functional teams; strong organization skills
