Job Description

Manulife Investment Management (Hong Kong) Limited is looking to hire an entry level Paralegal to provide legal support. The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of company law matters, some experience handling retail funds work, and familiar with corporate governance work.

We are looking for a motivated and dynamic professional to provide support on legal and regulatory matters relating to retail funds, general corporate matters and various company projects which may be on a local, regional or global basis.

Job Responsibilities :

Understand basic concepts of a funds set-up

Draft and review fund documents including simple agreements, application forms, letters, representations and other information

Coordinate clearance of any documents drafted or reviewed with relevant internal (and external) parties and if applicable external counsel before arranging execution

Review and revise (or draft) vendor documents required to support funds work, various projects, any company matters and general corporate governance matters

Review and advise on miscellaneous agreements and documents relating to funds business and the Company, including wills, employment matters, etc with guidance from relevant lawyers as applicable

Create, review and revise new and existing intragroup agreements

Assist with filings, applications and projects management and initiatives by tracking deadlines and outstanding matters and sending reminders

Assist with record-keeping and knowledge management

Desired Qualifications :

Paralegal certificate and / or bachelor’s degree in law plus demonstrated experience with law firm or corporate law department required.

Two years’ experience as a legal secretary in a law firm or corporate legal department servicing global clients .

Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, highly organized, possess excellent analytical skills, demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, have high level of accuracy and good attention to details, excellent coordination and problem-solving skills and be able to work independently on multiple, simultaneous assignments with minimal supervision.
