A world leading storage facility which has recently been taken over by a large conglomerate is aiming to plug skills gaps in their plant operations and are subsequently looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you will be directly responsible for assisting with maintenance activities to ensure that the plant continues to operate at maximum efficiency and to anticipate any plant, equipment or systems issues.
Key responsibilities :
Provide assistance to the Maintenance Manager offering support pertaining to the day to day maintenance projects and activities in Merseyside and other UK sites as required.
You will be expected to work alongside colleagues to identify potential improvements.
Be familiar with managing the CMMS system as it is developed and look for further ways in which to implement improvements.
Ensure that engineering activity comply with the company H&S procedures and current SHE legislation. Also ensuring all activities company ISO quality system.
Managing maintenance projects, ensure maintenance works are executed and completed within the design specifications; within a timely manner and within budget.
You must be ensure that the company remains compliant with relevant legislation i.e. PSSR; Legionella etc.
Predictive and Preventative maintenance activities for fault finding and problem solving.
The incumbent will be responsible for managing and directing the maintenance staff.
Educated to degree level, or similar in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
5 years’ experience (minimum) in medium / heavy industry (Water, Power, Rail etc)
Must possess expert knowledge of steam raising plant; pumps, air compressors and pressure systems
You must have had previous experience of drawing up flow sheets, carrying out basic pump and pipe sizing calculations.
A basic grasp of civil engineering, basic electric control and distribution, and welding procedures in connection with piping and storage tanks;
will be a distinct advantage.
Solid knowledge of SCADA and flow control systems will certainly be advantageous.
Looking for creative individual who can apply current technology when considering and designing new projects.
Auto-CAD experience is an advantage.
