Reports to : Integrated Compliance Services Director

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage stakeholders of all the teams under the 1st Line of Defense Compliance functions.
  • To increase focus and mandate for front-office controls lines of business and respond to management and regulatory demands for more control infrastructure to address financial risks.
  • Demonstrate efficiencies from alignment of resources and capabilities into centralized first level compliance hub.
  • Independently coordinates monthly, quarterly and annual reporting exercises across all segments this role will cater on and provides succinct and accurate aggregate reporting to Asia Regional Compliance and all other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate / liaise with Compliance, Operations, and IT personnel in Manulife’s Asia jurisdictions to collect and compile AML / ATF information, on a periodic and also ad-hoc basis.
  • Job Requirements (Knowledge / Skills / Competencies) :

  • Proven experience in Compliance / Legal / Audit.
  • A strong AML as most of our 1LOD work relates to Enhanced Due Diligence, transaction monitoring or name scanning;
  • Strong people management experience is required.
  • Data analytics background would be an asset, including within risk management functions at other financial institutions (banks or insurance companies)
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite of products including MS Word, Excel and Power Point, etc.
  • Fluent in English (reading and writing). Knowledge in other languages will be a good asset.
  • Strong cross cultural communications skills, enabling effective interactions with peers in the department and Territorial AML Responsible Officers; and
  • Team player, creative and open minded, willingness to learn and adaptive to change.
  • Education / Professional Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Legal, Finance, Business or related fields
  • Professional knowledge in Compliance, Legal, or Audit; and
  • 8-10 years working experience in the Insurance, Asset Management, Banking or Financial Services.
