About the opportunity
Provide technical leadership for projects for in the Philippine power industry.
Formulate and develop innovative solutions to complex problems that are characterized by lack of precedent and specific guidance
Portrays a strong external reputation for technical skills in area of specialization and for ability to deliver solutions requiring the integration of a diverse range of specialist inputs
Business leader responsible for building capability within the Power Sector, in collaboration with other senior practitioners across APME and globally.
Works collaboratively with other team members to deliver goals and targets of the Power Operations Center and wider Buildings and Infrastructure team throughout APME and Globally.
Works collaboratively with existing asset management and operations & maintenance practitioners to refine and define this service offering and leads the strategic growth of this service offering.
Provides key technical input and linkages to the Power industry capability within Jacobs globally.
Tracks and contributes to industry developments - ensures Jacobs is applying the latest technical developments
Targets important areas for innovation and develops solutions that address work issues
Keeps abreast of new methods and developments impacting Jacobs to recommend change to current or new direction
Liaises with research bodies and leading technical individuals or organizations locally in the Philippines / Region
Has strong connection to industry and actively participates in industry events
Undertakes forward planning in alignment with commercial positioning strategies within the asset management market sector with a focus on Power
Oversees continuous improvement of processes
Proactively builds effective working relationships with other people both within own Region and with other Jacobs’ Regions
Mentors and supervises Associates and Consultants - aids or coaching as needed
Values and uses individual differences and talents in team from own Region and from other Jacobs’ Regions
Manages several projects and subcontractors, where relevant, determines the resources required to complete the project; assigns roles and responsibilities in collaboration with in collaboration with Section Lead and Director of Operations
Provides instruction and opportunities for observation to help others develop
Where relevant, involvement in recruitment discussions and targeting key skills acquisition
Conducts internal learning and development / knowledge-sharing on area of expertise within own Region and other Jacobs’ Regions
Is a recognized professional in field of asset management, particularly Power
Degree in Engineering or equivalent
15+ years’ experience in power engineering or asset management
Proven experience as technical professional or lead on projects
Expert knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines
Well connected with the Power industry technical community
Ability to guide and mentor junior resources
Eligible for membership of the local Engineers Associations
Technical experience in asset management and the provision of strategic advice
Ability to deliver high quality outputs under tight time frames
Understanding of and ability to follow company and client policies and procedures
Self-motivated, with capacity to work both independently and as part of a team (including virtual teams spread over multiple locations)
Ability to think analytically and logically
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent report writing capabilities
Previous experience within consulting industry and local Power companies, would be highly regarded
