The Regulatory Risk Officer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business.

Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise.

Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers.

Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business.

Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function / job family.

Responsibilities :

  • Partner with the Risk Governance : Global Risk Controls and Issue Management to execute the firm-wide Regulatory Inventory Mapping program.
  • Partner with Risk Segment SMEs and direct project support resources to ensure efficient mapping of Regulatory Inventory to minimize the impact to Risk SMEs' business as usual activities
  • Coordinate with peer Risk Regulatory Controls Coordinators to ensure consistency in execution intra-Risk Segment and across Risk Segments
  • Interface with Independent Compliance Risk Management (ICRM), consultants and Business / Functional equivalents to execute the program and improve the ongoing maintence of the mapping
  • Utilize management reporting, to interpret Risk Segment regulatory compliance and determine areas in need of remediation or improved compliance risk management focus.
  • To demonstrate judgement on appropriateness of credit exposure, ratings and classification.

    Qualifications :

    Bachelor's degree, Masters optional

  • 5 to 10+ years or relavant experience in financial services industry with provent experience managing large projects within compressed timeframes
  • Prior experience in Risk, Operational Risk, Controls Management, Project Management, Internal Audit, External Audit, Consulting
  • Prior experience in Regulatory initiatives strongly preferred
  • Experience executing a Global initiatives across multiple regions and countries
  • Familiarity with Citi’s Control systems, in particular MCA, iCAPS and RET, an advantage
  • Thought leader that has experience leading staff or managed stakeholders through process change and execution
  • Methodical and proactive manager with strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Proven time and task management skills with the ability to multi-task effectively
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and data management / mining
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage projects and teams with minimal supervision and direction
  • Builds relationships
  • Influential & persuasive
  • Effective communication with Risk Management seniors and across functions
  • Professionalism & integrity
  • Education :

    Bachelor’s / University degree, Master’s degree preferred
