Position Description :

  • Field Service Engineers are part of a highly skilled team supporting the growing installation, maintenance and upgrade of Ametek Spectro Scientific products.
  • This position is critical in the company’s drive to provide exceptional on-site support.

    Job Requirements

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform installation & training on new instruments, in-field repairs, upgrades, and calibration of systems
  • Responsible for the diagnosis, debug and repair of Spectro Scientific’s broad line of hardware and software platforms
  • Effectively multi-task between multiple repairs at the same time, with minimal supervision
  • Follow diagnostic and repair guidelines
  • Maintain a professional interaction with customers while working on critical issues
  • Interact with the support team to maintain accurate records and transactions for materials and labor used in the repair process
  • Contribute to the expansion of the Salesforce knowledge base
  • Maintain and adhere to repair schedules as set forth by the Field Service Manager
  • Provide timely and accurate feedback to the Manufacturing and Sustaining Engineering groups for collective analysis and trend identification
  • Maintain the ability for a flexible travel schedule to accommodate last minute changes
  • Improve customer service quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes
  • Keep knowledge current by through training; reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations
  • Qualifications & Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience debugging complex electro-mechanical products and assemblies
  • Bachelor's or associates degree in technical related field or equivalent experience, such as a technical school of electronics or aviation training
  • Exceptional technical and trouble shooting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Proficiency with reading schematics, use of debugging techniques and associated tools
  • Ability to solder basic components and ability to use crimping tools, drills, files, etc.
  • Ability to read assembly drawings and follow assembly and operational directions to disassemble and reassemble mechanical assemblies without assistance
  • Ability to easily learn multiple equipment Software platforms
  • Comfortable operating in a fluid and fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Experience with Windows Office, Salesforce, software installation, and basic networks O / S
  • Ability to obtain or have Legal US Passport
  • 75 % domestic travel expected with occasional international travel; flexibility in scheduling for longer trips and weekends a plus
