Description

The purpose of this position is to assist theGMP(GoodManufacturing Practice) and PRP (Pre-Requisite Programs) designed in poultry dressing and marinated chicken or other specificline, or technical area, including inspection.

The role will have broad impactacross product lines or businesses. The position must be knowledgeable ofavailable resources within and outside of Cargill and be able to workindependently with minimal direction.

The position must be able to handleprojects that may involve new products or process that require development ofsystems, programs, validation and verification testing, specifications orimplementation of new regulations.

This position must be able to effectivelycollaborate and work with other functions of the FSQR in aimingthe departmental objective.

Ensure compliance to Cargill Food safety,quality, and regulatory policies and procedures. Assist the FSQR Supervisor inthe design, implementation, and validation of a robust environmental program toprovide a firm foundation for effective food safety management program.

Supportthe development and implementation of new food safety, animal welfare, andquality plant policies and procedures across the business, food safety andquality audit, specific product line knowledge, computer system (data management).

Analyze, develop, and implement system improvement / best practice, product initiativesboth locally and at the eneterprise level.

High level of collaboration withpeers and technical contacts across the organization.Responsible in the documentation, communication,and implementation of GMP and PRP documents assigned by his superior.

Responsiblein implementation of retention samples procedure for the product , fromcollection up to arrangement for disposal.

Provides other technical assistancewith the QA in the implementation of the in-line process requirements.Provides technical assistance with theRegulatory in document review and forms verification.

Asisst technicalactivities during internal food safety and customer audits. Supports theQuality, Regulatory supervisor in Quality system activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science field
  • Minimum 2 -3 years of experience in quality andfood safety system
  • Demonstrated technical and project coordinationskills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to adapt and learn in a changing workenvironment
  • Ability to manage mutlitple priorities
  • Ability to effectively communicate with diversegroups of people with varying levels of education
  • Ability to balance and achieve positive resultsin the areas of food safety, safety, quality, productivity, and cost
  • Able to travel when needed and work nights,weekends when necessary
  • Change technical skills, ability to identify theneed for and affect change across multiple businesses.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and assistfunctional team in making appropriate food safety / quality decisions
  • Strong computer skills : Microsoft OfficeSoftware (MS Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in biology, microbiology, foodtechnology, or other food science courses
  • 2 years of experience in quality and food safetysystem
  • Demonstrated flexibility to manage complexproblems or system development
  • Demonstrated process control management skillsand an ability to work with other team members
  • Understanding of statistical process controlprograms
  • Experience dealing with customers or suppliers
  • Operations experience
  • Self-motivated
  • Knowledge of multiple areas of quality and foodsafety
  • Quality Assurance / Food Safety
