The PR & Media Relations Manager is a pioneer role that will be responsible in establishing processes, tools and best practices in terms of event promotions and media relations across various Reed Exhibitions shows globally.

The successful candidate is expected to conceptualize and produce clear, consistent and compelling content and messagings that appeal to the different industries and audiences of our events, and develop and execute strategies in support of the objectives of each specific show and / or brand.

The candidate is expected to successfully maintain a highly positive and favorable image of each show supported, with the aim to continuously improve them as well, through tools and channels relevant to each show / industry.

The person will work with show teams in ensuring events are well-publicized in industry pages, relevant sites, and directories and will work with the marketing and social media groups to amplify this effort across applicable social media platforms.

Likewise, this role will be responsible in building good relationships with various media organizations across various countries and industries.

The person will work closely with marketing and / or show teams in ensuring ample media coverage for the supported show.

This entails reaching out to media organizations, introducing the event (or reestablishing connections), and striking barter deals as applicable so that right and timely messages are relayed to the public / audience and effectively promote each show supported.

Event Publicity & Internal Communications

Develop and implement publicity strategies that reflect each RX show / event supported, globally

Ensure consistent messaging and timely delivery of communications, both externally and internally

  • Maximize publicity opportunities; Ensure events are publicly listed on all reliable platforms and sites;
  • Be able to advice each show team on PR opportunities to explore

    Create a media and PR plan and calendar while closely working with the marketing, social media and show teams

    Write, edit, and distribute content, as needed

    Measure the effectiveness of each strategy or activity implemented and provide regular reports to teams

    Develop crisis management communication plan to implement and execute as needed

    Liaise with the local RX teams to ensure that communication materials are consistent and up-to-date

    Media Relations

    Leverage existing relationships with media, analysts, thought-leaders and / or influencers; continuously cultivate new contacts within business and industry media

    Maintain active relations with the media and secure partnership with them across various applicable events

    Work with the fulfilment team to ensure barter deals are completed as agreed

    Research and report on industry trends, media intelligence and other relevant information for effective decision making of stakeholder.

    This may include matters that affect the overall reputation of the business

    Measure the effectiveness of each strategy or activity implemented and provide regular reports to teams

    Contribute to the creation and implementation of a standardized PR media tool kit

    Performs other related activities that may be assigned by immediate superior
