The Data Quality Analyst monitors and ensures that meteorological data collected from weather stations deployed in Europe and Asia are quality checked before they are being inserted in DTN systems.
They also work with historical observations; extracting, validating and formatting data for customers as part of the Meteorological Services team.
Roles and responsibilities
Process and act upon error messages generated by the Quality Control tool;
Manually decode weather reports transmitted over international networks if data received and decoded by the system are suspicious
Liaise with (international) colleagues and clients and assist the Operation and Maintenance Team by creating reports of faulty weather stations
Monitor and validate the weather data quality control software and its output;
Perform database operations like entering new stations, monitoring the output, and understanding the flow of data
Design, develop and maintain the procedures for troubleshooting problems with weather station data
Assist your colleagues from the Meteorological Services team with data analysis, data deliveries and standardized product changes;
Possess (at least) a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, e.g. meteorology, engineering, mathematics;
Must be interested in meteorology and weather station data;
Experience in handling weather stations is an advantage;
You have a good background and understanding on geography;
Knowledge in Python, MySQL and experience in data analysis would be an advantage;
You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
You are willing to work in Taguig City;
Open to work during public holidays and irregular shifts;
You can work independently or with minimum supervision;
