Data, Modeling & Machine Learning Lead

Responsible for leading a team of technical professionals doing data management and modelling. Specifically, teams who are performing data management and governance activities, and processes calculations to evaluate, estimate the losses and risks that could be sustained due to a catastrophic event such as a hurricane or earthquake.
Individually, the role will create optimised solution / s by applying machine learning algorithms to perception type of problems and / or where tasks are layered in an element of prediction.
It also covers the development of solutions that can access data and use it to learn for themselves.
Lead and serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders mostly from onshore to provide oversight on the delivery of data management activities (may include analytics) and catastrophe modeling functions
Manage work priorities and negotiate deadlines with stakeholders
Establish and maintain a good working relationship within the team
Provide technical coaching for junior staff members
Demonstrate subject matter expertise on machine learning and natural language processing models and algorithms
Identify, assess and drive the adoption of new NLP techniques and tools across GSCC processes
Implement data quality controls and implement strategies on collecting new data and the refinement of existing data sources
Analyse trends and insights, interpret results of data experiments, and explore and examine data from multiple sources, which can result in improved business process efficiency, cost savings, or revenue gains
Create a rapport with other leads from Operational Excellence, business stakeholders and other functions to understand business and solution needs, and translate into robust, efficient, and scalable technical designs
Identify and drive re-usable design patterns that address common needs which are robust, flexible, and extensible
Engage and lead solution discussions, including producing and demonstrating high fidelity prototypes of proposed solution components, and demonstrate these to senior stakeholders, to gain feedback for a desired outcome
Effectively manage machine learning initiatives for the GSSC following the relevant governance and delivery framework
Conduct coaching and mentoring session
Perform ongoing reviews to ensure customer needs are met
