The position offers experienced ProjectManagers the opportunity to lead the analysis, planning, and execution of allprimary administrative functions for both Development and Managed Servicesprojects.Candidates with priorexperience in handling offshore delivery teams in the design, development, andtesting phases is a huge advantage.Mandatory to the role is managing the project parameters of budget,scope, and schedule, plus people management to cultivate a motivating andproductive working environment.
·Accountable for the management of large and/ormultiple small offshore delivery projects, with responsibility of ensuring thatUGBU Global Delivery Center meet all requirements in the delivery of a qualityapplication to the Customer within agreed time and cost plans
oWork with the Regional Project Manager to createa budget and project plan for the Technical Design, Development, Testing, andSupport effort. Builds realistic time estimates, work plans and schedules thatreflect budget, project milestones and staffing mix.
oStructures projects/activities to enablereasonable workload and work/life balance
oPlan and implement all actions required to deploythe application, both technically and functionally
oOversee and manage day-to-day activities of anoffshore project team or multiple offshore project teams
oCoordinate with the Portfolio Manager to ensurethat project team members are shared across projects when appropriate
oEnsure that changes in scope orschedule are justified, covered financially and agreed to by appropriatedecision makers
oMonitor key project metrics such as billableutilization, defect statistics, actuals vs estimates variances.
oSupport Portfolio Manager in project escalations
oFamiliarize the team with thecustomer needs, specifications, design targets, the development process, designstandards, techniques and tools to support task performance
oAssure that the team addresses allrelevant issues within the specifications and various standards
oEnsure that processes are in place todeliver high quality service
·Risk and Issue Management
oAnticipate, report, and address potential issuesto minimize project impact
oTrack and report on project risks withcorresponding contingencies and priorities
oCommunicate team status, taskaccomplishment, and direction to regional project managers, portfolio managers,and practice managers
oCoordinates meetings with the Customer,Regional project manager, Offshore leaders and/or and Portfolio managers to discussproject impediments, needed resources or issues/delays in completing the task
oProvide status reporting of team activitiesagainst the program plan or schedule
oKeep the Project Key Stakeholders informedof task accomplishment, issues and status
oServe as a focal point to communicateand resolve interface and integration issues with other teams
oEscalate issues which cannot beresolved by the team
oProvide guidance to the team based onmanagement direction
oCoach and mentor team members
oManage staff performance to obtain desired performance level
oProvide performance feedback during appraisal period
·Share responsibility in promoting learning and transfer ofknowledge within the UGBU organization.
·University degree in IT, Computer Science or any of itsequivalents
·Has subject matter knowledge of relevant implementationresponsibility
·At least 12 years consulting or industry experience
·At least 7 years experience in consulting services, as ProjectManager, preferably in a multi-national organization
·Proven customer facing experience within professional serviceorganizations
·Proven project management experience in IT project delivery
·Experience in remote development methodology
·Experience in mentoring other managers and senior staff
·Possess strong planning capabilities, communications skills,presentation skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
·Ability to effectively influence internal team members andcustomer stakeholders through consensus building and ability to get resultsthrough others, is a plus
·Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport withteam members and clients
·Ability to work in a driven team environment
