The Sr. Director, Compliance and Ethics, Government Contracting (Sr. Dir.) will oversee the enhancement and maintenance of McKesson’s government contracting compliance program.

The position will be located in Las Colinas, TX, Atlanta, GA and Richmond, VA. The Sr. Dir. will report directly to McKesson’s Senior Vice President, Compliance & Ethics (within McKesson’s General Counsel Organization).

The Sr. Dir. will be responsible for ensuring that McKesson has an effective compliance program for its government contracts.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensuring the enhancement and maintenance of an effective compliance program for McKesson’s government contracts.
  • Supporting the businesses’ goals while building and maintaining a strong culture of compliance by, among other things, implementing effective and business-savvy policies, procedures and training;
  • ensuring open and effective lines of communication at all levels of the organization; supporting investigations, risk assessments, audit and monitoring activities;
  • and driving enterprise-wide compliance and regulatory affairs initiatives.

  • Supporting effective business processes and controls to ensure the organization is satisfying its government contract, regulatory and compliance obligations including remediating any identified gaps in a timely fashion.
  • Supporting integration and reorganizational activities.
  • Establishing effective partnerships across the business and enabling functions, such as Internal Audit, Human Resources, IT, Employee Relations, Legal, etc.
  • Experience

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in building, enhancing and maintaining compliance programs focused on government contracting and the associated regulatory obligations, such as procurement rules, product sourcing restrictions, pricing commitments, labor and employment commitments, FAR Part 12 contracting, and cybersecurity.
  • Broad experience planning, developing, implementing, monitoring and managing government contracting compliance programs.
  • Proven track record creating the foundational elements of an effective compliance program such as drafting policies, creating and delivering training, and implementing effective compliance auditing and monitoring programs.
  • Significant experience with the relevant laws, rules and regulations.
  • Significant experience working collaboratively on cross-functional and cross-divisional teams.
  • Critical Leadership Capabilities

    Influencing and Collaborating : The Sr. Dir. should have demonstrated experience successfully establishing a culture of compliance, proactively addressing risk, and leading a modern, fully integrated business-oriented legal or compliance program.

    He or she should also have the demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships across a company, ideally in a matrixed environment, as well as with relevant government regulators.

    The Sr. Dir. should have executive presence, influencing and collaborating skills and business acumen, and the ability to serve as an ambassador and influencer for compliance and regulatory strategy.

    He or she should present with great credibility and have a strong reputation for honesty, integrity and ethical behavior.

    Business Acumen : The Sr. Dir. should possess a deep understanding of business and key business drivers. He or she will be expected to leverage this knowledge to create a vision of how risk-based compliance initiatives can work effectively, practically and coherently throughout our organization.

    The Sr. Dir. will work with business and legal colleagues to approach problems in a pragmatic fashion, fostering ethical and compliant behavior without unnecessarily restricting the business of the Company.
