The Trainer Lead is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business.

Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise.

Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers.

Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business.

Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function / job family.

Responsibilities :

  • Delivers courses content and ensures participants leave with new skills to apply to their job (in some businesses this starts with onboarding)
  • Partners with regional and business coilleagues to align priorities and activities
  • Stays connected with Learning Advisors to share insights and ensure program objectives are being met.
  • Provides performance support to newly trained associates.
  • Facilitates coaching, communication and leadership workshops.
  • Manages tight timelines and pace of the course / class
  • Manages classroom environment as well as pre and post-class activities, reports on program progress to necessary stakeholders.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • Qualifications :

  • 6-10 years of experience;
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Education :

  • Bachelor’s / University degree, Master’s degree preferred

    Serving as a global center of expertise within Citi Learning, the Leadership and Performance Solutions (LEAPS) team uses innovative social, experiential, and instructor-led learning approaches to build learning solutions that develop leadership capabilities, foster professional development, and advance Citi's strategic priorities.

    Reporting to the Regional LEAPS Lead, the Professional Development Program Facilitator will function as a key member of this team, leveraging knowledge and experience to help our Citi employees reach their full potential.

    Responsibilities :

  • Facilitate Citi’s Professional Development programs, in-person and virtual group sessions, to maximize learning and to develop the professional capabilities & skills of employees at all levels at Citi
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the program content and materials to achieve learning objectives and to help Citi employees improve and enhance individual skills and organizational performance
  • Facilitate programs using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, video, lecture, experiential activities, etc.
  • Create a supportive, motivational, and inspiring learning experience that promotes application to the work environment
  • Manage session environment with 25+ participants as well as pre- and post-session activities
  • Surface and introduce opportunities to improve delivery of programs and work with other LEAPS leads to ensure excellence of program content, marketing, and delivery
  • Additional Responsibilities :

  • Serve as subject matter expert for the Instructional Design team, providing feedback on new approaches and actively participating in design projects
  • Partner with regional and global colleagues to align priorities and activities
  • May help facilitate delivery of additional LEAPS programs, development initiatives and support special projects as needed
  • Qualifications :

  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication, oral, and written skills
  • Ability to facilitate complex discussions
  • Exceptional questioning skills (both in-person and virtual) leading learners to new insights
  • Ability to think on feet, be flexible and skilled at handling challenging discussions and helping people connect the concepts and skills to their roles
  • Ability to synthesize / summarize key points in a discussion
  • Comfortable with ambiguity stays present under stress, maintains composure, makes decisions in the moment
  • Well-developed understanding of processes, such as how to enable group decision-making and problem-solving
  • Ability to coach participants both individually and in a group
  • Executive presence and business knowledge credibility
  • Personal connection with target audience (preferably has similar leadership experiences to draw from)
  • Ability to connect with cross-business audiences to make the content relevant, drawing out different perspectives
  • Culturally sensitive; able to facilitate and teach in different cultures and create an inclusive environment
  • Role model Citi’s leadership principles
  • Continuous learner who stays current with both internal and external business and professional trends and approaches
  • Ability to coach participants both individually and in a group
  • Experience in the interpretation of 360 and other developmental assessment tools a plus
  • Must be able to travel and reside at training location when facilitating in-person multi-day programs (Travel 50% of the time)
  • Education :

  • Bachelor’s preferred
  • Fluency in English is required
  • Prior experience in the delivery of professional and / or leadership development programs
  • Experience with Adobe Connect and Zoom ideal
