  • Job Summary :

    The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for drafting financial statements & Tax returns, preparing business activity statements and individual income tax returns, assisting with bookkeeping overflow, and assisting the senior accountants.

    The Senior Tax Accountant will act as team lead and review and improve the work of team members.

    Job Description :

  • Preparation of financial statements, income tax returns and business activity statements for Australian SME clients (Company, Trust, Partnerships & Sole Trader)
  • Preparation of Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) & client payroll tax reports
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare management accounts
  • Preparation of workpapers and accounts to deal with Division 7A loans, Capital Gain events and Fringe Benefits Tax (including employee contributions)
  • Provide advice and develop strategies to assist our clients that have complicated structures of many entities, including discretionary and fixed trusts
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of Australian taxation and other relevant legislation and rulings
  • Perform quality check on behalf of other team members
  • Mentor / guide junior members of the team as needed
  • Contribute in the improvement of workflow within the PH team
  • Job Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Tax
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in Australian accounting and taxation
  • Leadership experience is a MUST, willingness to lead and become team lead in the near future
  • Be able to mentor less experienced teammates
  • Can perform quality check on behalf of team members
  • Can act as point of contact of PH team to stakeholders
  • Extensive experience in the preparation of Australian income tax returns for Company, Trust, Partnerships & Sole Trader
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Xero, Xero Practice Manager, Xero Tax and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in using Handiledger is a huge advantage
