As Canva continues on this exciting period of growth, there is now the need for a Shared Services Accounts Payable Accountant to help-out and take charge of the accounts payable, transactional bookkeeping and other accounting duties as part of the Share Services function in Manila, supporting Canva Global.

You will have experience with vendor master management, accounts payable, transactional bookkeeping and accounting in a commercial environment, high attention to detail, thrive on achieving target service levels and an aptitude for using systems and technology.

You will work closely to support the Sydney head office finance team, directly reporting to the Shared Services Team Lead based in the Philippines.

We’re a fast-moving business so change is frequent and volumes will continue to grow, you’ll be comfortable working in a hands-on environment and have excellent communication skills.

The finance team’s mission is to protect and serve Canva and its stakeholders - that is protecting the organization from external pressures and risks whilst balancing the need to best serve our teams and supporting their goals and building a world-class finance team.

Your role :

  • Day-to-day processing and coding of invoices across the Entities
  • Process authorized credit notes
  • Distribution of Invoices for Approval
  • Preparation of EFT payment run, ensuring that payments are scheduled for release dates
  • Preparation and processing of ad hoc payments
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
  • Deal with enquiries from suppliers on payments
  • Vendor statement reconciliations
  • Maintenance of Vendor Masterfile
  • Assist vendor credit applications
  • Reconcile AP and reimbursement related GL accounts
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Assist with month end closing, including preparation of invoice accruals
  • Preparing analyses of aged accounts payable and input to management reportsInternal
  • Partner with the wider finance team and business units to achieve their objectives, including the setting of relevant metrics / SLAs of the Shared Services function and ensuring they are met consistently
  • Assistance with year-end audit activities where necessary
  • About you :

  • A keen eye for detail, you enjoy upholding high standards of excellence in the services you deliver.
  • Operating in a fast-paced environment you are able to adapt quickly, able to manage team workloads and meet deadlines with support.
  • You have excellent communication skills and approach tasks with a constant lens of customer service and continuous improvement.
  • Also, we’d love it if you have :

  • A Bachelor’s / College Degree in Finance / Accountancy or equivalent
  • A CPA or equivalent accounting qualification is an advantage
  • 2-3+ years end-to-end knowledge and experience in accounts payable processing, vendor master management, and related month-end processes and adjustments
  • Experience with NetSuite Oneworld is highly desirable, given a critical part of this role
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Keen eye for details and the ability to identify and correct errors in processing
  • Highly organized with the ability to work within set deadlines
  • Advanced Excel skills are desirable
